New from Massachusetts
Hi all, thanks for making this such an awesome forum.
About me - I was the kid who rode around the neighborhood - until my 8th grade science teacher, Mr. Whyte, started The Bicycle Club - and I discovered the fun adventure of riding to various scenic attractions north of Boston. I'm 59 now and Mr. Whyte has long since passed, but I'll always be grateful to him. He made learning science fun, and taught me valuable life lessons - including his love of biking. He owned a few popular donut shops, which he sold out to a competitor and went into teaching. I asked him why he did it, and he replied, "Money isn't everything." so he made enough early in life, and then pursued his passion to teach.
I currently ride a 2002 Specialized StumpJumper, which I purchased in 2020 from a guy who basically never rode it. I've owned several mountain bikes over the years, from a previous Stumpy to a Gary Fisher and others.
