Tailgate pad?
I'm thinking about trying a tailgate pad. Have you used a tailgate pad to haul your bikes? Pluses and minuses? Any thing to look out for when choosing a pad?

Plus… works really well for current bikes with front suspension. Secure and the bikes are easy to get in and out. Inexpensive. You can fit five bikes in a shorty crew cab truck which makes it great for private shuttling.
Minus… Blocks backup camera (varies by model, probably). I’ve found mine a pain to install, getting the straps to thread between gate and bed. Might help to undo the gate itself, it just occurred to me to try. Does not play nice with road bikes, without that extra stack and fork crown clearance. Bikes that have cables under the down tube will rub the cables on their paint.

Major downside for me is downtube blemishing. Have noticed paint wear on both bikes in as little as a day. This is with a dirty bike on nasty logging roads though.
