A Major Haul

I recently was offered the stockpile of bikes found in a junker/collector's attic after he passed. Here's what we found.

A whole lot more pics here:

Whoa, that'll take a little time to sort out. There HAS to be something really cool, mixed in there somewhere, even if 90% is junk. Good luck.

Those columbia gas tank cruisers really do it for me. I'd keep those and donate the rest (minus that odd Masi I missed in the pile) to some charity.

Cool score, I dig the Dunelt and the RSW! The green/gold fade paint on the "Super Stock 3" is pretty cool, I wonder if that's a Montgomery Ward or Sears bike?

At first from afar, I thought it looked like a bunch of hi-ten dept store bikes, but after looking through the photobucket pics it looks like you have some nice scores!

Several mixtes, a nice Raleigh Superbe project, and then.. the Raleigh Twenty motherlode!! I count 5 twenties and an RSW. I'll take one of those Green twenties if you're distrubuting the score..

Where abouts are you? I have a large mixte collection and am always looking to add to it!
Boy! What I could do with all that space! Well, actually, just what he did I guess...

It doesn't matter which bike I get, as long as it's blue, & full Reynolds 531, and about a 60cm. I wasn't going to ask, but since people are placing orders.

You were just looking at scrap metal pile!

The British stuff was really most of the good stuff, a couple nice mixtes, and some neat odds and ends, the Columbia pseudo-folders are way cool... No lightweights (one altenberger record aside) and no real gems, and boxes are mostly full of saddles

I'm curious about how the headsets on these Columbias function, I don't see any obvious means of adjusting bearings. Any adjustability on the handlebars?

Oh yah? Why is that I'm curious? This is the first time these have ever been out in public.

I passed all the Brittish stuff down the line to a friend of mine, anything else you see will be at the Dudley,MA Swap meet this comming Sunday.

Wow. That's a lot of British steel. I'll echo mainstreetexile in expressing interest in one of those twenties. Although I really shouldn't. At this rate, my basement is going to resemble that guy's attic.

Like I said, I sold all the brittish stuff to an brittish afficionado friend of mine whoe will service an resell them, He does a hell of a job reconditioning his bikes, not a t-shirt rag and wd40 flipper. he does new tires/tubes/cable on nearly everything, repacks hubs, even rebuilds the IGHs when needed.

Anything else is up for grabs and will be at the Dudley MA swap meet this weekend, shoot me a PM if you like any of the Mixtes or the Raleigh record altenburger, or the grand Prix carlton framekit, or anything else.

I know I've seen those pics somewhere before, although it could be just something very, very similar. There was something posted at the time about why the pics were in a warehouse when the bikes had been characterized as being in someone's house. Not casting aspersions or saying there's anything freaky here, they just look really, really familiar.

Well... I took those photos this past Saturday, where the bikes are being stored at the Dudley flea market. I uploaded them a day or 2 before starting this thread. I did pull them out of an attic though, and now they are in a warehouse. So it does sound pretty similar.
