More from Humboldt Craigslist...

Kinda cool, in a really, really hard-to-get-to place, totally not worth 300 bucks:

https://humboldt.craigslist.org/bik/...175482654.html

Looks like a S-A 3 speed.
Looks all original.
Looks pretty cool.
Looks overpriced.

The Crescent City Panasonic's cheaper, slightly-more-conveniently-located sibling:

Shimano 3-speed. Visible trigger on the bars and bellcrank on the NDS tell the story. No indicator chain on the right that Sturmey uses.
But...yes, original and cool and overpriced. However, Panasonic has the BEST steel rims I ever met in all my shop years. I gave my sister the 5-speed version of this bike.

"Nice little bike," is what I called them.

This is odd. What happened to the front brake? Cheap, though.

Price is fully Stumpy Taxed out, but it's almost worth it for the Mafac cantis and biplane fork.

Here's a bit of a weird one. I swear it looks like someone replaced the rear dropouts but the paint looks original Could be factory, but I've never seen a dropout with that kind of "step" in it.

1976 Motobecane Grand Jubilee Reynolds 531 Bike Frame set 25in / 63cm $100

If it's up it's available
Will be away until Aug 19th
1976 Motobecane Grand Jubilee frameset
Reynolds 531 main tubes with Nervex Professional lugs
Gipiemme fork dropouts and Suntour GS forged rear dropouts with adjuster screws.
25in seat tube, 22 in top tube length.
Comes with a Tange bottom bracket, Stronglight Competition bottom bracket, SR Custom Seatpost, and a Pivo 110mm length stem.
The headset and bb have been serviced. Perfect project for the French bike enthusiast! (I have the nuts for the bb)

Those dropouts are original. I had them on a Windsor before. I am thinking maybe this was to give more chainstay clearance for the freewheel cogs. Here is a thread with the original suntour catalog showing them:

That Stumpjumper looks a lot like a Schwinn High Sierra of the same time period.

A run on tall roadies tonight. This one looks like an '81-'82. Pandemic tax: moderate:

https://madison.craigslist.org/bik/d...176240032.html

Trek 412 large frame excellent condition - $295 (Fitchburg)

Too bad there are (apparently) no Univega catalog scans online. Good description but only one pic. Is that a Tange sticker? Pandemic tax: very low:

https://madison.craigslist.org/bik/d...176114786.html

Vintage Univega Viva Sport Road Bike - Tall / Nice - $150 (Brooklyn / Madison)

Okay, enough nosebleeders. 1983 mis-labeled as a 1980, converted to bar-ends, needs brake hoods. Pandemic tax: high:

https://madison.craigslist.org/bik/d...176001423.html

1980 Trek 500 Road Bike - $420 (Fitchburg)

And they get smaller.... same seller as the Univega, I think. Pandemic tax: medium-high:

https://madison.craigslist.org/bik/d...175961846.html

Vintage Miyata One Thousand - 48cm / Good Condition - $400 (Brooklyn)

Another small frame, kind of a sleeper, has a lugged TT double-butted frame. Pandemic tax: zero:

https://madison.craigslist.org/bik/d...170546426.html

Older Schwinn High Plains Mountain bike - $100

And finally, it wouldn't be Hippie Christmas in Madison without someone trying to pawn off an old TV Lenny Firenze left in the basement by his roommate who moved out last year. Pandemic tax: 100% (people shouldn't even give away these things):

https://madison.craigslist.org/bik/d...161592337.html

Steel Frame Road Bike - $100

"Reasonable"? That's a steal. Seller obviously unware of either the COVID tax or the IM tax. Looks closer to a 56 to me than a 58.

Golly, do we know any IronKids in New (ahem TriBiker19 cough) Hampshire?....
