Addiction 2023.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I didn't know this existed. We both got a good laugh out of it.

I guess if they send out millions of them and get any return at all they're ahead. Seemed oddly specific, $600 in Bitcoin?

They threatened to ruin my career (too late for that) and my social life, as if I have one.

Good question but I have no good answer. Might be gremlins.

Jason Garrett should never have been a head coach and I have no idea what they were smoking when they hired him.

Now, knee-jerk... it is disturbing when a team shows up at the start of the season so unprepared to play that they need six quarters to get a point. That's a head coach issue. Now maybe they'll do better from here but that doesn't say "building on last year" even with the understanding they could be better but do worse.

14 miles and it felt good. Temps were chilly in the mid 70's. The discomfort was minimal. I don't understand that but I'm not complaining.

Interesting tidbit:
On my way back, I was subjected to harrassment by young women who whistled at me as I motored by them. I can make some observations. They were blind. They were recently released from incarceration. They have no idea what stylish cycling kit looks like. The sun was in their eyes and they didn't see my ample amount of blubber. Despite all this I got a kick out of it.

They upgraded the Garmin connect app while I was on the DL. One feature I like is the ability to add a note. Since I discovered this I use it almost every ride. I also use it for maintenance items, like flats or lubing my chain. I'm at 130 miles since I last did it and I think I will need to lube it within a week. About 150 miles is about the maximum I can go.

There is a thread about it in A&S and one with the full video in General. It was in Vegas.

Absolutely horrible. Clearly intentional.
