I upgraded almost everything on my Specialized Sirrus

I recently updated my 2015 Specialized Sirrus Elite Carbon Disc.

I changed almost everything but the seat/post, stem and brake handles. I want to do some credit card touring but who knows if that will ever actually happen. This is just my commuter and sadly, I don't use it as often as I would like.

Here is the build list:

Shimano BBR60 Ultegra Hollowtech 2 Bottom Bracket
Shimano Ultegra Hollowtech 172.5MM 50/34 Crankset
Shimano Ultegra 11-28 Cassette
Shimano Ultegra 6800 front and rear Derailers

Deity premium race carbon handlebars cut to the same length as the originals
Ergon CP1 grips
Shimano sl-rs700 105 Shifters <-- Love these

Roval c-38 disc wheelset
Shimano sm-rt900 160mm rotors
Continental GP-4 season 32mm

Does this make any sense for my commuter bike? Absolutely not. Is it fun to ride now? Absolutely yes.

Nice ride! good choices on the upgrades! If you like it and enjoy it then it's worth it. Running a 2019 Sirrus Elite Alloy myself but haven't really done any upgrades because I already have a couple nice carbon road bikes. Really enjoying my Sirrus though. Keep riding!

I have a Tarmac as well. Love both bikes for different things.

Nice. Great aesthetic. I have the same bike, but went a different direction because I couldn't get on with the SL700 shifters. Very stiff action. I ended up converting to XX1/11 with a 42T ring and Ultegra 11-32 just to get lighter shifts with 11 ratios.

Anyway, it's spectacularly fun to ride. I run 28s on a 19mm rim. Tempted by 32mm or larger (though I think bike maxes out at 35mm or so). How do like your 32s?

It is so much fun to ride. When I want to ride sidewalks and parks this thing is perfect.

Bet those wheels aren't cheap but they look killer! I have your basic Sirrus, I wasn't sure if I was gonna keep it for another yr or not. I have mixed feelings on the bike, though if I upgraded some parts, that might change my mind.

Great upgrades. I didn't know Shimano made 105 level flat bar shifters. Good to know for my hybrid project.

What are the advantages of 105 shifters vs the stock? Just lighter?

Reply to a 2 year old post? Sure why not?

They are way more precise in shifting. They just click into gear perfectly. So smooth, so clean.

I have a 2020 fx3 . I enjoy the geometry, but I always wanted to upgrade the shifters (acera). And it has 9 speed alivio cassette in the back and acera front derailleur.
in what order what I have to do the upgrade and what parts should I get. I was thinking grx, since I like 46/30 combo upfront. How much would it cost ?
