Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just got the 2006 Cannondale R800. The only thing I switched out was the seat-got a terry. Can not wait to ride. It arrives next Friday and I am sure the real winter will kick in just in time here in the NE! Anyone have this and care to comment?

Also looking for suggestions for riding shorts. What do you buy? I am a newbie to road bikes.

I'm sure you'll love it...I had a CAAD 5 last year and it was a great bike, I'm sure the CAAD 8's are even better...Did you get the beautiful polished aluminum?..I love that finish.

My suggestion on shorts is to get a pair with bibs...Much more comfortable than ones with a waistband.

I have an 05' CAAD8 frame and its great! Ive never ridden anything but aluminum, but I think it rides pretty smoothly. Hope you enjoy your new ride!

Is it this one?

I agree that the polished aluminum looks awesome.

Very nice, good choice. For shorts go with bibs. A little more money but a lot more comfort.
