Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So said CNN just now. Film at 11, or in late September, whichever comes first.

When asked if he's coming back, my Lance bobblehead doll is shaking his head affirmatively. No, wait, now it's negatively. Now it's in some sort of sideways, I'm really drunk thing.

I think the real interesting part is, in the link to that vanity fair article, he's riding his bike naked...

Does anyone else think that sitting on a road bike saddle naked is just asking for trouble?

I sure hope he doesn't pull a Muhammad Ali and come out of retirement to show world he can't compete with the young guys. I very much would like to see Lance win if he does try for an 8th Tour De France.

What team will he ride for?

Trek has him in pocket.
and

Still, Bruyneel added: "If he were serious about a comeback ... myself having a team I could not imagine him at CSC or Rabobank,” he said.

Sad. Very Sad. Armstrong COULD have been a Ted Williams or Rocky Marciano and retired as "The Champ". Instead, he is gonna be a Pete Rose or an Ali...staying until he has become a joke.

The odds Armstrong will be on the podium in Paris in 2009? Zero. The odds his LOSING the Tour in 2009 will support the growing belief that his priors victories were fueled by illegal drugs? About 1,000 percent.

And he will lose. Good God, what is it about top athletes that prevents them from quitting on top. Wait, could it be ego? No way...

Evidently you have him tried and convicted, so you require no further convincing. Which means he may as well do it.

Go Lance.

Try to see the Big Picture you friggin idiots. Start with photos of loved ones in your family who have died of cancer and work backwards from there.

Alan

You are obviously an anti-LA guy. So, let's see, he could be a flaming ******* prickhole like Ted Williams or die in a crash like Marciano. Sports medicine is just slightly better these days.
