Conversation I had awhile back with @aggiegrads:
me: "Big hills today, I'm riding my bike with a 24" granny"
aggiegrads: "my granny gear is 2 feet"
At Eroica California, Cino, and more recently, my TdMIL 2021, I haven't been too proud to get off and push when my lowest gear was either too close to stall speed, or walking speed matched my paperboy technique.
I've been looking through old pix, and can't find any of me doing the two step climb, but here's one of @davester from the TdMIL. I was pushing right alongside him at this point:

No quite. I have to settle for a pair of size 11 1/2s. (24 X 28). Sadly. I am unlikely to grow into those 12s. I think my shoe size is going to shrink along with my height. Now my fix gears are a different story. I have to lace up my big shoes to ride them.

I have used the two foot gear on occasion but I prefer not to memorialize with pictures. In that spirit though here are my two feet cooling off in the Yakima River in the middle of a hot day’s ride.

I frequently have to use my two foot gearing to get this one from the bottom to the top...
On my Torpado, a heavy fendered steed...
I was hoping to install this., coupled with a more forgiving freewheel..
to avoid the two foot gear choice but I could not get it to work - so far. I will take another run at it next summer.

49-45 / 14-17-20-24-28, with 49-45 / 14-16-19-22-26 as a fallback if it can't hack the 28T.

A few inches short of a 2 foot gear…6.5” to be exact. Talimena Drive in Oklahoma.

Never. I would never walk my bike up a hill. At least not when anyone was watching. Certainly not when anyone had a camera. I hope no one proves me wrong on this.

I went to the two foot gear when the gear I was in when this happened failed about 5' from the top of the climb. I finished the final 1.5 miles to home in the two foot gear.

The ride didn't actually have an official name, but that's what I call it since it was the maiden ride for my then-newly-acquired Bianchi Super Leggera.

The days get pretty short in winter. I'm expecting @gugie to post a picture from today's ride where I was struggling up a 9% grade on Bald Peak despite having a 24" gear on the bike.

The steepest Pavement (I think) I've seen. Here on Huahine in French Polynesia... The French (quite appropriately) call it a "Rappel"

It's a shame that most photos pointing up steep pitches make them look like level ground. Better to take photos across the road such that the trees seem to be growing at weird angles.

Yep. It was that steep. In northern Norway. I made it to the sign, then had to stop for a photo ... and to regain my breath!

It's a vanity dilemma, really. What is worse: being photographed at L'Eroica with a long cage derailleur and a rear cluster that looks like a set of dinner plates 
or being photographed while walking op what looks like a 5% grade in the picture?
