Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Help me name my undecaled/unbadged orange bike.

I picked up a generic Mercier orange track frame from bikeisland and was thinking of putting a custom decal on it. Open to ideas like "The Dreamcycle" or any orange themed name. Maybe a jack-o-lantern on the headtube? LOL

Fire away!

Why would you name your bike? If you call its name, will it come to you? No.

Every bike needs a name, like a boat or a car does. What role does the color orange play in your life (aside from the bike)?

Boo you.

I named my bike Jane after the character from Catcher in the Rye.

So you've always had a subconscious fantasy of riding and controlling Jane from Catcher in the Rye and, when you had the opportunity, decided to name your bicycle Jane?

Be honest with yourself.

Nope. More of a dedication. Jane is a metaphor in that book. Also, my whole teams names their bikes so it's normal. I'm also probably half your age or more than that.

I vote you do the black 01 as well... the trick will be finding a saddle that matches the roof on the General Lee
