Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pen Opens Bike Lock - Oh dude

A 50-year-old lock design was rendered useless last week when a brief post to an internet forum revealed the lock can be popped open with a cheap plastic pen.

This was big news 2 or 3 years ago, I suspect the video is that old.

Nothing new to see here folks, move on.

No, but I've been hearing rumor of a 7lb bike south of Norway. Just waiting for confirmation...

Crap. I bet that's too big a loss to attempt a recall... Kryptonite will never go for it.

Krypto phased out those locks 3 years ago, and offered replacement to all kryptonite owners. If you still have yours, you really missed the boat.

2005? I remember reading an article in 1996 (before I knew they were 100% product wh0res) where Bicycling magazine had a "rehabilitated" bike thief bust open locks. Some of them only needed a pen, screwdriver, or even his fingers! Others needed freon or some other super cold substance.
