Vande Velde can TT the problem is that since he became vegan he was not TT or doing anything as he did a few years ago when he got 4th or whatever it was in the TdF... Anyways I did not see that coming anyways.

Anybody saw cadel in the TV signing stuff?? we looked like a darn cadaver, so darn thing that I even think he went to the extreme and thats why he is sucking.

Wow. What a great race. They rode past my street in Boulder yesterday! It's awesome that we have so many pro cyclists that are from/live in the People's Republic of Boulder

No one said his career is in trouble; he's just not a top tier sprinter.

Wow, really?

A quick look at his record would indicate that he is indeed a top tier sprinter. But I'm not here to convince you of that, so we'll have to agree to disagree...

No it wouldn't.

Good.
Doubt you'd be able to convince him of that.

Is USADA going to retroactively ban Vandavelde and give the victory to Tejay?

They like doing things like that.

Yeah, but they will wait 14 years first.

I was there for Stage 6. I saw the start and had a spot on the Lee Hill descent. Flagstaff would have been nice, but I was short on time and might not have wanted to fight the crowds, anyway.

The start in Golden:

The descent:

Things were pretty split up on the descent, so there are more videos on that YouTube channel if you're interested. There are also some pictures on my blog if you're super bored.

Right on. I saw them roll into Boulder, then parked my butt 500m from the finish on Flagstaff. If I get the time, I'll post my videos too.

One short one as Fabio Aru goes by to get 2nd, with Jens shortly thereafter, being screamed at by yours truly. I started rolling again as Levi went by, looking absolutely dead, basically taking a nap with his forehead on his handlebars as he TT'ed the final 500m. T'was a great day to live on the front range.

Awesome. I'd like to see those videos. Did you ride your bike up to Flagstaff? Was it super crowded?

BTW, Golden seems like a nice place to ride. How do you like it there?

Yeah, I parked in Superior and rode into Boulder, watched them come in on Highway 93, grabbed lunch, then rode up Flagstaff. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it might be, but I went up early, all the way to the finish, and climbed the rest of it while everybody cleared out, so it could have been way more packed than I ever saw it.

The second half of that climb is WAY more brutal than the first, grades in the teens, and I really wish they could have raced it, but I understand the complicated logistics may have disallowed that.

Golden is indeed a great place to ride. Alex Howes lives here, probably a dozen of the guys racing Saturday live in Boulder, which is a short ride away, there's tons of climbing to be had with low traffic, and it's sunny, but not too hot 300 days a year. The bike/car relationship is pretty amicable as well.
