Alpine Bikes?
In the last 2 weeks, a couple of Alpine branded bikes have popped up in my area. I really cant find any info on them other than an old CL ad for one that said he thought the frame was made by Nashbar back in the day. Anyone have info especially if they are decent quality? A 14 speed Grand Record in my size is up now and could likely be had for $100. Pic below Thanks-

If the headbadge is a red square with a white cross, it was made for Georgetown Cycle Sport in DC back in the 70s/early 80s. Used to have some old spare decals (with an older font for the downtube moniker).
Can't tell from your photo much in the way of details. Got more pics?

Thanks- I searched on here and managed to not come up with that thread so it definitely helps. I wrote the owner asking for more and better pictures. Looks like it could be a lot of very different imports or builds so see what he comes back with. If its got good components may be worth a shot

this is one of those marque names which can be a potential source of confusion
IIRC there was an Alpine marque in Britain and another in continental europe

To my knowledge, Nashbar did not make bikes. They were just another private label brand. Value it at component grade and condition. $100 sounds like an attractive price.
