Bobby said he had the wrong fork on it for the photo. It will arrive with the right one. I'm so stoked, and that Bobby is going to deliver it personally is amazing.

Right at the moment I am planning to ride my Giant at Nats. I don't know that I'll have the Dixie totally dialed in by then. My Giant is a known quantity. I have the thought that I don't want to risk shipping the Dixie to PA, either. I don't want to chance damaging or loosing it.

Yeah, yeah ANOTHER Dixie Flyer...

But, it's not a Giant Omnium. In so many ways! I'll take it up to Hellyer on Sunday. I'll ride it on the rollers tomorrow to check my setup and get the pedals working.

Thank you, Carleton! Light it is, but I somehow missed having it weighed. Not that it really matters.

My first night at TTown this season - really, really happy to race this. I got the frame in the fall and have mostly just ridden it on rollers so far. I took it to Milton for a weekend in February, but didn't quite have it set up the way I wanted. But now with 36mm bars (ControlTech - a decent option if you hate short and shallow bars), my position where it oughta be, and my four-spokes glued up... it's my baby.

Had an okay night. In the 15 lap scratch I attacked with 1.5 to go and blew a huge hole in the field, but was caught by one guy on the line. A few bad races later and I was ready to rage in a 36-lap points race. Haven't seen results but I think I finished second with some strong sprinting.

I guess I never posted this here:

Probably going to ditch the Deda handlebars at some point for some much narrower Nittos at some point. Gotten very used to my 37cm ADB-X's on my commuter and these feel huge.

Believe it or not, that's an excellent frame. Great angles, stiff. The only downside is the integrated seatpost binder. But other than that, it's great. I've seen several elite US riders ride that frame including a sprinter who was up and coming at the time.

Yeah, it's actually one of my favorite aluminum frames I've ridden (vs. my old Dolan Track Champ (no personality/snap like the Fuji IMO), my street beater Superb Sprint (really tall feeling)). As you said, it's really stiff, and you can feel it.

The only problems I have with it are the 1" threadless fork (ugh), and also the track ends (at least on my model) are inset in the ends, making me have to run Miche axle nuts (Dura Ace/Zipp/Old Zipp hex cap washers don't fit). Also the tubes get dinged pretty easily. The binder hasn't been an issue for me, but I almost never touch my saddle height.

It's good enough for my weekly races, and considering I ride to the track, I don't really have to worry about ruining it (I bought the whole thing back in 2008 for $650 with some tubular trainer wheels) doing some park laps like would with a $$ carbon frame... Though there's still part of me that wants a Bridgestone/Anchor PHM/TR/whatever they're calling it now.

20+ inches of snow here, so drooling on the bikes here.
Figured I'd post my Croll. Racing provenance from the early 90s. I got it back on the track at NSC last May. Thrilling!
