I give up

I can't seem to find anything on touring tire load capacity.

Are wider tires better at carrying. Less aero, sure. More rolling resistance, not really. I put my LT3 bontragers back on with the panniers and was surprised at the speed I could still move at.

So it comes down to ride, durability, and load ability, for my final tire selection.

700x32/ 35 with a mildly aggro tread should the road get dirty. Suggestions ?

OMG I started another tire thread.

All else , bring a 3rd tire , if the rear blows out a sidewall from the load, you put another tire on .

+1) on Conti Travel Contact ... included is the mesh sidewall reinforcing, aka 'gatorskin'.

but the 700c is 37 wide. model's only other size is 26" . a 47 width.

Continental Touring Plus comes in 32, is freakin' bulletproof, and has the tread you want.

Conti Top Contact II, with emphasis on the "Top." This model is made in Germany and is superior to the regular Contact II, which is not made in Germany. Did a good amount of dirt with them in MT back in June, and I don't travel light.

I think I remember a chart on Bruce Gordon's website that mapped out tire size and load weight. I tour and commute on Vittoria Voyager Hypers. Fast and great handling in both 35 and 37. I have also ridden them in gravel and dirt; they handle pretty well for semi slicks. 320 tpi casings, which make for a great ride, even on a heavy bike with a load.

Looking at the first post, it looks like you also want the load capacity. One of the only sites I've seen that gives the load capacity is Schwalbe. example: Schwalbe Century Century | Schwalbe North America

(I can hardly believe I found tires available in green. lol)

Realistically, you probably don't need to worry about load capacity unless you're going to be carrying VERY heavy loads. Just make sure that you put enough air in the tire to avoid pinch flats when you go over bumps. Pretty much anything 28 or wider will work; you need to make the decision based on weight, durability, and how the tire feels rather than load capacity.
