Late to comment but, So. Choice.
Another Columbus Steel Italian, this one is CROMOR. The Simoncini Cyclocross Special has an ovalized top tube with rear derailleur and brake cables along the top of the top tube for easy portage. The down tube lacks any shifter bosses but has a cable housing stop for the front derailleur cable. Currently with 2x10 Campagnolo carbon Chorus derailleurs & Ergo levers and a Campagnolo carbon compact crankset. The 700x32 Stampede Pass tires are silky smooth performers and the ride is fast and very comfortable.

This sub needs one.
1997 Raleigh R700. Even with the massive rims it's superlight. The wheelset is surprisingly light when you pick them up. The tubing is Easton Elan. I've seen only one other bike with it, also a '97. I think that was a one year deal where they made bike tubes with it, it's popular for golf clubs. I'm planning on sending the hubs to PWB and have them re-laced with black Kinlin TB 20 tubular rims/DT Comp's. I already have some 23mm tanwall Challenge Elite pro tires for it, I think that will look sharp.

Mine’s a work in progress as I make some mods to this ‘91 Serotta Colorado 2 built up in ‘93 with Campagnolo Record 8speed.
So far I’ve changed out the 3T Prima 280 bars for Soma Hwy One and threw on some crazy Cycology bar tape. I also replaced tubes with Ridenow TPU 38g. I’m awaiting a new saddle and a layback post, and then I’ll “stick a fork in it” and call it done. I think.

I don't use integrated shifters, but the mods have in the past banned my bike from C&V because it's 9-speed. So here's a picture. I've since re-adjusted the saddle a bit more forward.

Super clean SC. Must say that there are plenty of bikes in the main C&V section which are 9spd (or 10, or 11, or...). And people can get banned, but not bikes.

By “banned,” I mean banished. A thread I started about DA 7700 parts in C&V was banished to the wastelands of the Early Brifter forum.

He had recently purchased a bike with SRAM etap, used! Asked how the shifters talk to the derailleurs. There is a “coin” battery in the shifter, I think you fold the hood to access.

I put New Dura Ace (7400) on my Caylor race bike in 1984. Fantastic SIS and six gears in a five gear frame ! ! I still have that bike with that group and it still works just fine.

Dialing in this bike now. Working on getting the bars in the correct position- I’m not used to this style/shape of bars. I’m thinking the drops should be parallel to the ground vs the bar tops. I’ve moved them some since I took this picture.
The seat is setback pretty far on the bike, been adjusting it on each ride.
The ride with 28mm tires is smooth as silk. No vibration, no road buzz - other than weight, I'm not sure how much "better" my newer bikes actually are.
