Tubby got what he deserved and is an embarrassment to cycling. Maybe don't stand in the middle of the road talking on ur cellphone blocking the 5000lbs of motorized weaponry...moron.

We shouldn’t be fat-shaming the cyclist, maybe his is an honest attempt at losing weight.
But he should have let the car/truck thing pull off the road, you can see the rear end is blocking traffic.
Really just disgraceful, the whole scene.

Your post is an embarrassment to ****posting. In the US, I'm pretty sure that's assault with a deadly weapon.

I think I'd want to know why the cyclist was blocking the car before I'd make such a statement. The driver's action is completely indefensible. It's very close to attempted murder.

At least there is plenty of evidence. License plate (tag) and a good shot of the driver.
I think the "I didn't see him" defense is out the window.
I agree with livedarklions - no matter what caused the confrontation, attempting to run over a cyclist with your Jaguar is a no-no. Of course, the driver probably has enough money to replace the bike, once he gets out of jail.

The article indicated the driver was paying for the bike, the cyclist was unhurt and there would be no criminal charges. I don't think this would be handled this way in the US.

Cop Magnet
All the motorist had to do was wait at the scene and do nothing. I'm willing to bet the worst he would've gotten was a finger wag and a "bad boy" from the cops.

Whenever you see these videos, it only leaves you wanting more -- more information. If the cyclists was in the wrong from the get go, his action(s) are greatly mitigated by the driver using a deadly weapon in an obviously illegal manner.

I'd be embarrassed if my Jaguar was only worth £47,000.

It appears as if the cyclist was deliberately blocking the vehicle.
The question is why.
If he was on a call with the police, then there should be some background. Perhaps a close pass or something, and the cyclist managed to get out in front of the vehicle.
Nonetheless, once the vehicle pushed over the top of the bike, the only solution is to wait for the police to come and sort it out.

People drive £47,000 luxury vehicles as status symbols. It's obvious that this cyclist, whatever his motivation was rightfully having none of it. Cars are cars. Status is a construct.
People don't tend to stand on the street in protest against powerful forces unless what they perceive as a grand transgression has taken place.
Whatever transpired between the two, the car driver turned into a sad, sad baby when his status symbol didn't get him the desired result.
Actual rich people are on firm enough emotional footing to not act like babies on the street.

The Pound has tanked recently, but still nothing about Jaguars branding or image positions itself as a common-peoples car.

Looks like an F-[edit: Pace] type to me. Even at £47,000 British Pounds, assuming this car wasn't purchased in the last few weeks, the exchange rate would've put it in the $65,000-$90,000 USD range depending on options, engine, etc...
