Anybody here faimiliar with Guru bikes? Found a Guru Photon SL for $2,000
I'm a mountain biker and looking to start road cycling during this off season to keep things interested. Ideally, looking for something fairly lightweight (sub 18 lbs) and still capable for longer rides (60-100 miles).
My budget is $1,000 to $2,000 depending on the frame and groupset. I found this Guru Photon SL on my local Marketplace asking for $2,000. Ridden for less than 500 miles, and equipped with Ultegra Di2 groupset, Reynold Assault and Strike wheels (staggered set), Dura-Ace pedals, Enve seatpost and handlebars.
Guru no longer exists as a company and I haven' been able to find too much information on their bikes. On paper, the full build seems like a decent deal, considering the current market. However, it also makes me a little nervous buying a brand that no longer exists. Does it reduce the value of the bike in some ways?
Thanks in advance!

Hey, it's finally a thread where @bruce19 doesn't need to force his Guru into the conversation!
Nicely spec'd bike.
What's happening with the RD cable though? Is it really running down the chainstay and zip tied?...I can't see it clearly.

Just buy it. Those wheels alone are half the cost.

They're nice bikes. When Guru went out of business, Allied started up by acquiring most of Guru's assets.

That's the old Di2 D-Fly unit to connect your Di2 equipped bike to a cycling computer. I think that Shimano officially only supported it if it was mounted that way on the outside of the bike but most people with carbon fiber bikes mounted it inside the frame. Mine's installed in the seat tube with the battery and I've had no problems with dropping connectivity. If you like the rest of the bike don't let that keep you from purchasing it.

The text on the tires is not aligned with the valve stem. Stay away from that bike.
