Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

you might be on to something! I could have 3 wheat with some mustard for lunch. Only 360 calories. I might need to do that asap since I'm getting hefty.

In other news I walked .7 miles today. I should have put it on my Garmin. Pain was tolerable 3 ish.

We had a guy roll into the shop this morning that needed new brake pads. He's about a third of the way into riding the circumference of the US on a recumbent.

I have two frame pumps. One's a Blackburn that fits the Ritchey and the Battaglin, though the Ritchey lacks a pump peg so I use a pump strap to pull the head tube end up to the top tube. The other is the Zefal you see on Mrs. Peel, which I got with the Circuit (which has a pump peg). I use that one on the Cannondale, the Circuit, and both Lotuses.

BITD I bought a clamp-on pump peg for a Trek mtb I had. Worked great, looked weird.

I think a proper pump would be a chrome Silca Impero. But it would cost more than either of the Lotuses.

The black plastic Zefal doohickeys? I've had a couple of those.

There's also the C&V approved clamp on pegs:

I'm ok with the pump on the seat tube though.
