Addiction 2021.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have a friend in Tower City in Schuylkill County. He’s got about 40” of water in his basement.

I had enough with innovations specifically from Canyon - hate the press-fit bottom bracket, stupid headset and other crap. I remember being very happy with steel, aluminum and even titanium bikes.

Well I guess I'm going to have to go get this bike that's too big for me. Only $100, so I can't say no any longer.

I think it looks pretty good. My recently retired LBS guy was a regional rep for Nishiki bitd. He had some NOS frames in storage, that's where I got my first touring bike, a Nishiki Seral. I also got 2 Nishiki mountain bike frames from him including a Colorado that I really liked. I was sad when it broke.

For fun I went looking back to see how far I've ridden over the years. Since Jan 2007 I've ridden over 54,200km. There were a couple of years when I didn't bother keeping any records. I guess I'm not a serious cyclist.

The major roads into center city from the west are closed due to flooding, and the Schuylkill River is still rising.

Went another round of lawn seeding/repair. 4th attempt. I decided to try some fertalizer with it this time. Then I got a real wild hair and decided to do a round of weed and feed on the rest of the lawn. Way to many weeds. Read multiple bags of product. And some how ended up with 2 bags of straight fertilizer. My dandalion patch is going to be incredible next spring. I should just set the lawn on fire. Put it out of its misery

Remember, if there is water on the road, turn around, don't drown. Seriously.

If you set it on fire now, the ground will be ripe for growing next season.
