Those are Giant carbon bars that came on my Propel and they have a small flat on top. Personally, I prefer carbon FSA K-wing bars.

Edit: The mount comes with several inserts.

Montauk Point Light, NY. Built in 1796.

The homely white structure to the left is a spotting/fire control station built in 1942. It was linked to 4 16 inch coastal defense guns less than a mile to the west at Camp Hero. These measures were not enough to prevent 3 (IIRC) ships from being torpedoed nearby by submarines of the German Navy during WW2.

A few from my recent trip to CO. The mountains and thin air kicked my butt, but the scenery was glorious.

I haven't visited this thread I started in a while. Here's a shot from the Vermillion River Regional Greenway taken Monday morning:

... and here's the bike I was riding:

Brings back memories. I've lived in Michigan since getting out of the service in late '68. Born and raised on Long Island though. In 1982 I rode my Honda 750 back to L.I. and rode out to Montauk. Somewhere in my archives is a photo of my bike in the parking lot with the lighthouse in the background.

Couple weekends ago I wanted to see if there was a way to ride my bike to Memphis International Airport. It's not very bike friendly at all but I got it done, and then went up to the top of the 5-level parking garage for a pic.

^^^Excellent shot, @Beachbumer!

It's nice to see this thread revived. Here are a few from my last Fall Colors ride:

I'm 62 years old today, so I went for a 62 mile ride.

From your pics in this thread your area looks very nice to me. Every thing is so green with a dark blue sky. I was at a Ft Bragg in the 80's and loved how bright green everything was and how dark blue the sky is.

Well, you're right, about half the year. But the other half is ice and snow and cold with grey skies and bike-killing salt on the roads and trails. That's November - March. April is typically a rainy-muddy mess while everything starts blooming again.

But I suppose that is why I build nice bikes - I have a lot of time in the shop. I've built a dedicated winter bike this year, and we'll see if I can master the challenge of coming up with beautiful images in adverse conditions.

Born and raised right near MCAS El Toro. In the Early '80s I was delivering bread to your kitchen there before the sun came up in the morning. Stupidly, in 2006 I relocated to a less friendly climate as well.

Are you aware of what happened to the land after the Base closed? A lot of it was sold to developers for housing, commercial and retail, obviously. But over 1,300 acres were set aside for a park. 1,300 acres. The Orange County Great Park. Central Park in New York is only 843 acres.

It's divided into sectors, "Sports and Fitness", "Agriculture", "Play", "Arts", "Festival Area". It has organic farms and fruit groves (over 100 acres) that donate their produce to those in need. The Sports area alone is TWICE the size of Disneyland.

Do you remember the LTA Base in Tustin, just down the road from El Toro? It's now a huge outdoor shopping and entertainment area.
