No-strap cycling shorts
Any recommendations? I have Gore and Assos already, the later are nice, but I am just interested if there are alternatives.

Most everyone that makes bibs makes shorts, so I'd think if you like their bibs then they'd be a good choice for shorts. I still use Pearl Izumi for both bibs and shorts in their middle price point. Some like them, others dislike them.
When talking about cycling clothing, I usually think of bibs as having straps and if shorts are the only term used then we are talking about something with no strap.
Or is this strap for something else and not going over the shoulder?

Yes, I think you are right, except if you google cycling shorts, you still get 99% results on bib shorts. So I wanted to be clear.

I think your search engine believes it knows what you want better than you do. I have no interest in bibs, and I haven't searched for shorts in years. Using both Google and DuckDuckGo for 'cycling shorts' (no quotes), all I get are shorts, not bibs.

For shorts, I would suggest Voler. They make a variety of shorts, at different levels and price points... https://store.voler.com/collections/...rts-and-shorts

And thank you, in fact their attack air is exactly what I am looking for, shorts made for the summer without an elastic around the waist so as to not have pressure on the bladder (my Gore are quite bad for that). I do find it surprising that I have not been able to find these shorts via Google. Although it appears as if the Attack exist in Switzerland, but not the Attack Air. But let's see.

Assos shows 6 models of shorts on their website and Castelli shows 8. How many choices do you need?

This has directly to do with demand. Most people who want high quality cycling clothing prefer bibs, rather than shorts.

Bellwether is fairly priced. I only have the bibs since shorts only tend to slip down while riding.

Most of my cycling clothing is from Pearl Izumi. They have three or four different tiers, to cover everyone from avid beginning riders to pros (or those who ride like they want to go pro). They make shorts and bibs in each tier, as well as insulated bib tights for cold weather. Prices are moderate... less than Castelli or Rapha, but more than something from Amazon or Nashbar. I've been very happy with the performance and durability of their stuff. It seems to be Goldilocks level for my use.
