Show me your thirsty vintage Schwinn for a free treat

Those damn kids.

thowing perfectly good components in the metal recycle bin because they are puppies and see no value unless it’s carbon fiber, has a THC sticker on it, or some new rap band like the Starland Vocal Band.

Hell, they probably spell “Juice Newton” with a “Z”

anyway, saved from the bin to be sorted, melted down and sent to China was this stunning spring operated bottle holder with Schwinn proudly stamped in the lever.

nice design, and since there is no upper lip/guide for your bidon (that’s water-bottle to you stateside folks) you can ride holding your fave beverage, be it an Olde English 800 or a Chateau Petrus.

not judging.

how can this be yours?

this being October still, show us your pumpkin colored Vintage Schwinn with no water bottle holders.

[but Robvolz, my vintage Schwinn doesn’t have water bottle holders because Schwinn didn’t bother with braze-ons back in the day. After all, it’s a Schwinn, not a Colnago]

don’t worry, I got you fam.

included, some vintage appropriate clamp on clamps for you to use with style and grace.

Looks good, no?

thats ‘Merican engineering.

Hold your fav adult beverage. That is a good thing.

If you are a stinking hippy, or a hipster, well you are in luck. Kombucha which in no way tastes like fermented dirt will also fit in this stunning holder.

Grandma called to ask if you could bring some pumpkin pie filling. Reasonable request. Who are you to say “no?” It’s not like all the pumpkin spiced what-nots at Trader Joe’s.

Hey Trader Joe’s….pumpkin spiced Vagisil???? You’ve gone too far.

Anyway, make Me-Maw proud. Pedal over to the Piggly Wiggly and get that can.

I know it’s fun to huff, but stop that.

Anyway, send a pic of your pumpkin colored vintage Schwinn and this beauty is yours

Vintage water (beer, wine, hippy juice, pumpkin pie filling, brake huffing juice) bottle holder is yours. No box tops or beer pull-taps needed. Just a pic.

Hey kids, stop and ask before you toss. You must hate Mother Earth, and, your music sucks.

I don't have a pumpkin colored bike, but I do have an eggplant purple 1989 Schwinn Sprint that would look pretty spiffy on!

Too late (by about 16 hours, lol)!!! I just grabbed a couple "bottle cages" yesterday, at the Sac Bike Kitchen. 😋😁😉

Now, I'm just waiting to see how you sneak a pic of Greta into this thread. 😁

Where were you 3 years ago

I've since adapted a bottle cage but she's burnt orange and in this setting pretty thirsty, but alas on the bottom of the Schwinn hierarchy.... BUT Sheldon said it and the Varsity were the most important bikes in US cycling !

Nice offer, I hope you find a good home for it

Here is my entry if it is eligible. I think it is their Kool Orange-circa ‘71 Continental.
I purchased it this spring in stock form, from a gal my age who got it new. I had a Continental in Burgundy which I believe was a ‘72-‘73. If you were speaking of a color called pumpkin, and not orange in general, kindly disregard and please accept my apologies. (I’m planning to put the rando bars back on.)
Either way….

Happy Great Pumpkin Fest!

Zeus Newton would be a good name for a band.

My wife has a Schwinn Sprint and she likes it very much, but it is not orange. Plus we already won this month.

Disparages The Kids These Days, but also says "I got you, fam."

As the kids (used to) say: "I can't even..."

Anyway.

If this was one of those erector set handlebar mounted vintage bottle holders, I'd definitely be interested. Alas, I have a brick red Schwinn (and not orange) and it has a bottle cage clamped on right over the (formerly not worn off) decals. Good luck with the giveaway. Sprints were low-end, but for a few special years, they could be had in "short coupled" form with a curved seat tube, just like their very big brother, the Paramount. Crazy!

Last time that I looked on Ebay for these Sprint bottle holders, they were wanting pretty good money for them.
The ones that attach to the handlebar seem to bring more money.

Thanks for playing.

Maybe some Colnago panto parts next.

Thanks so much!

This made me very happy to receive this “treat”. Thank you!

I keep Bawls Energy drinks, Hop Tea, grapefruit, blueberry, and other carbonated waters, Yerba Mate, Arizona tea, Coconut water...and like to use stainless bottles, and this will allow that. Cool.

enjoyed seeing your refreshments
And lastly, I’d forgot to mention, it’s called Julius. Kidding, but thought it would be fun.
hey, thanks again.
