That era Raleigh Competition is an interesting bike. It’s been described on the C&V forum as a “1970s bike with 1930s geometry,” and that’s not too far off. A lot of the British club bikes c.1935-1960 that were intended for fixed/SS had 71-degree seat and 73-degree head angles or they were72-degree parallel. The old British cycling manuals disapproved of standing climbing and advocated sitting further back and focusing on deliberately “turning ‘em ‘round.” Easier when you’re further back than contemporary thought.

Ok, here’s the Schwinn Sprint dressed up as a SS. I got the 16t freewheel and adjusted the chain line over the weekend, then installed the chain last night. Took a ride and it worked brilliantly! 😊

I've commented previously on this, but who cares, I'll say it again, I love the color scheme on your Big Block. I personally own the first edition in red with white socks, and I love it too.

I love your photo with the "stairs to nowhere" because I run on a trail which has very similar stairs. They are remnants from an old hotel. The hotel is long gone but some of the steps remain.

Added fresh bar tape and a new crankset to the Rush today. Curious to see how the cranks feel. They're a new model from Fyxation that's essentially an omnium knockoff - 7075 aluminum, gxp bb included.

Maybe just....Omnium inspired lol. I was lucky enough to snag a set retail instead of resorting to ridiculous ebay prices. Have you ever ridden omniums before? Can you compare?

You might be right, inspired may be a better term. Have not ridden omniums, always planned to get a set "someday" and then they got discontinued.
Took these fyxation cranks for a ~10 mile ride today and I'd say they feel slightly stiffer than the all city 612s I was running before. Overall, a decent first impression. We'll see if that changes as I get more miles on them.
