Vintage Bicycle Restoration services in Calgary
Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knows of a quality Vintage Bicycle Restoration service in or around Calgary Alberta Canada please.
Very slim pickings in this neck of the woods and I don't wish to have to pay for shipping!!

If you have BikeFlights or a similar service in Calgary, you can get really good prices on shipping frame and fork. I have shipped many framesets for $30 US across the country.

To be honest that paint looks quite good as is. If the decals are flaking off you could replace just those.

Tx for more pics, we could use even more if you would, maybe some closer ups of the trouble spots that are bothering you.
The more I see, the more I say you should keep it as is, and pursue the "resto" detail, cleanup and polish.
This looks great for its age and condition, you've done a good job of taking care of it and that is a big part of the story that should be preserved like the bike as well.
Tx for more pics, we could use even more if you would, maybe some closer ups of the trouble spots that are bothering you.

It would be a bad idea to destroy that original paint and art. A professional repaint will cost a lot, and Bike Flights is not all that inexpensive in Canada. To that add that your lovely new paint/art job will actually lower the value of the bicycle, from a collectible point of view. It is, of course, your bike but you would be wise to think this through. A bike can be repainted an infinite number of times. It can be original only one time and original is valuable, more often than not.

Restoration update:
Just thought I would thank everyone for their help in pointing me in the right direction. I have removed most components from the frame as far as I can. Needed a couple of Mavic tools for the Headset and Crankset and the gentleman who will be restoring/rebuilding it said he would rather finish removing the headset and crank himself. I have disassembled/cleaned and polished everything else. I have been purchasing NOS as well as used items on eBay and so far I have 2 Mavic rims(old ones are really dinged up), new decals from Greg Softely, NOS Modolo lever hoods, Mavic tools(for headset and crankset). The best news is I have found this local restorer and though I have to wait until end of July for him to retouch the paint/rebuild, due to him being very busy, but I don't mind waiting one bit!! The only thing that I will change at a later date is switch out the Mavic Groupset to Campagnola because that it what I wanted originally but could not afford as a young 'un!!

I'd be curious to know who's doing the restoration job, good to know who's in town doing this kind of job.
Rath Bicycle here in Calgary does a flawless job at restoring vintage bikes from the little I've seen, t was really impressed with the examples i've seen.

Thanks for the advice!! I went ahead with a frame touch up and new decals along with a strip down, clean and tuneup. Looks and rides great now!!
