Bianchi Reparto Corse EL Tubing
I have been offered a Bianchi Reparto Corse with full Campag 8sp Record Groupset. It’s in good condition especially the EL tubing. I heard good reports about this tubing when I was looking at a De Rosa earlier in the year and am I right in thinking these were the last of the Steel lugged frames??
Struggling to date the frame exactly and wondered if anyone knows of a link to the Bianchi catalogues for the late 80’s/early 90’s and whether the BB serial number 61D 1721c provides any further information other than I think the size and production number?? Appreciate any help…..

Mid ‘90s is the short answer.

MarkinOz Did you pick this up? I was rushing out the the door for work the other morning and didn't have time to get you much information. I had thought Tmar might chime in.
In the US market the EL first makes an appearance in '93 but the EL Oversize, larger down ovalized tube, comes along in '94. Mostly it had a chrome fork but some of the complete bike offering had a carbon one, and the '96 & '97 years seem to have the painted 'crown" like yours. It was offered through '97 as either frame only or as full bike, and occasionally the full bikes were pretty fancy as the '96 version feature a "Giro" kit with Ti Syncros seatpost, blue Topline cranks, blue King HS, blue Sun Venus aero rims, Ti Salsa skewers it was a cool looking bike.

Can you confirm that these were one of the last lugged steel frames offered by Bianchi??
Thanks again,

I agree mid 90’s. The groupset looks like ‘95-96 to me. That’s a really nice bike.

MarkinOz Yes and No I think it was the last of the highend road frames, but I think some of the 'bread and butter' bikes the Eros and Campione/ Campione de Italia and other may have used lugs for a few more years.

Thanks Spaghetti Legs bianchigirl It definitely caught my eye! We don’t see many of these in Australia so definitely excited about adding this to the stable.
Will hopefully be able to update its condition in a few weeks when I pick it up.

Finally I own a Bianchi!
Who doesn’t like an early Xmas present, especially one in Celeste!!
Really happy to have this in the stable and to get to work cleaning this bike up ready for 2022. S/N 61D 1721c Full Campagnolo Record 8v Groupset with Mavic Reflex SUP Rims. Thinking of changing the black Turbo for a Celeste version.

Congrats - beautiful bike! I had one and it rode really wonderfully, but it was just too big so I ended up selling it.
Think it looks great with the existing black saddle, but I vote for blue tape picking up on the decals.

Very nice looking bike with one of my favorite component groups. Should be a great ride. For what it is worth, I think a black saddle looks great as well. Enjoy!

Celeste bar tape and saddles might look cool, but if you actually ride the bike, they will get dirty pretty quickly.
I'm reminded of when I went to my local shop and Mark, the owner asked what I was looking for. I told him white bar tape and he looked at me and frowned. He reached over and grabbed a roll of black tape. Message received.
