Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Warren Buffet has been good at perpetuating myths about himself. Such as the one about living in a modest house in Omaha.

The guy is much more savvy and hard-ass than he wants anyone to believe.

A $100k house in Omaha is $500k here. Kinda tempted to move to the plains for that reason sometimes, but not a big fan of tornadoes.

There is no such thing as from afar. Those things can and will turn on a dime. Fascinating to see the path of one though. Hope I’m never in that type of path.

They are not nearly as bad as the same amount of suprathreshold time, delivered in steady-state blocks. I imagine the program will get there, though.

Seems it would be a lot cheaper to pitch one of these on the frozen steppes of Wyoming.

Yes. 3x10' 30"/30"

They're gross. The first set will have you asking why you're doing this **** at about the halfway point. You then make it through, and the next two sets aren't anything like the first one, though the last one, you will be counting them down... 6 7 8 9 10 left.... 7 8 9 10 left. WAY more than halfway done.... etc.

You have a set number you are supposed to shoot for. Stay at that number, because the first couple are going to be cake, and you're going to feel just fine. You will want to overshoot by a large margin, and that will bugger up the last 6. If there is a training mistake to be made, I've done it. Stick to the 120% or whatever number you're supposed to be at.

That said, I'd rather do 3x10' 30"/30" than 4x10' 40"/20" I won't even speak of Tabata's.

We-e-ellllll..... You're ignoring the coagulopathy that happens with COVID. Remember the BF member who was recovering from COVID and had a clot in a vein in his leg? This happens a lot with COVID, and if you get one in your corronary arteries, or in your brain, and it kills you, you died from COVID. This is one of the things we learned last year, and one reason why some epidemiologists look at "Excess Mortality" instead of official Cause Of Death. The problem is NOT that we OVERestimate deaths from COVID. It's that we UNDERestimate them.

Tonight I rode Stage 6 of TdZ. "Go Long". As soon as I got on the trainer to warm up and spin down, I signed up with the A ride, which turned out to be 34 miles. I THOUGHT I dropped out of that and signed up for the B ride, only 24 miles. But when I chose "Join Event", I found myself in the pen for the 34 mile ride. "Oh, well," I thought, "What the hell?"

I figured an hour and a half, except I didn't figure on going up Fox Hill and Box Hill. Ended up being closer to 2 hours (1:53). Gaaaahhhh.... That was tiring!
