Interesting article on the TP. If you look at the photo of them sitting down you'll see that 3 are wearing the custom shoes with Jo Roswell wearing a pair of S Works with what looks like a massive stack of spacers under the cleats.

I just happened upon this deal and thought I should share it: https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Produc...51_-1___205162
This weekend's sale is only $637.50 for a complete bike with two spare chain rings.
Legal Disclaimers:
1. I don't work for Nashbar, nor do I have any affiliations with Nashbar.
2. I don't have any personal experience with bike.

Already did. Not bad, but thicker than keirin grips. The fake "rope weave" isn't all that comfortable on shorter tracks with high G forces. You really feel it dig into your hands. Better to use real cloth hockey tape. I did the same thing bit with actual cloth hockey tape, and you can tailor the thickness of the rope weave and the tape. The glue seeps through the cloth and gives you a super grippy surface.

His bike looks super small under him. His bars are already in front of the the axle. His entire head is in front of the front axle when he stands during the windup:
I think he may have had too much weight on the front tire. Dude needs a longer top tube.

If you ride an outdoor track, look at your tires and you'll see horizontal striations. There can be lot of horizontal forces on the tires at really high speeds.
That point between turns 1 and 2 during a flying 200M on a 250 is where A LOT of forces come together. This isn't the first time I've seen a pro roll a tire at that spot. I think one of the German's had a similar accident a few years back. That rider said that his glue was fresh and hadn't completely set yet.

I think that "Muscling the bike" can do that.

Clinchers, tubulars and tubeless - which tyre system is the fastest? (video) - Cycling Weekly
An interesting watch. However, n=1, and i haven't dug into all the specifics of the different tyres they looked at (weight, thickness, compounds, etc.), so potentially many more unaccounted for variables. The observations at the end are interesting, though.
