SO, I had signed up to do the Recovery Ride #1 from Zwift Academy at 6 PM. I arrived home just in time to get set up, if everything went okay. So, of course, today is Zwift Update Day, and it takes me TWENTY MINUTES to get the damn program updated and running, by which time the window has shut. And me, sitting here in bibs and jersey with an HR strap on. So I signed up for 8 PM. I guess I'll ride after dinner.

Had a 24 ounces of pumpkin pie custard milk shake tonight. I think I gained 10 pounds.

Yes. Yes, I am.
NOW he tells me!
Seriously, though - I JUST Zwifted on Friday. And the computer was open most of the time in between. This only happens when I have a very narrow time window, but I swear it ALWAYS happens when i have a very narrow time window.

You can ride with unwrapped bars. I did it earlier this year, a little bit.

My previous cat would sometimes eat mice (and the occasional rat) and sometimes not. If it escaped then she'd soon loose interest and I have to set traps for the pest. Other times she'd devour them (except rat tails). There is nothing like waking up to the sound of your cat under your bed, crunching the bones on a rodent. She was a slightly odd cat; If she didn't like her food she would let the neighbour's cat inside; watch it eat and then chase it outside.
My current feline overlord is a large lazy loaf of a cat. I don't think he's caught a rodent in his life.

Tonight...23 miles in the cold and wind. By "cold", I mean in the 50s - in So Cal, that's jacket weather. By "wind", I mean the trees were being violently stripped of their leaves outside. Meanwhile, I had a fan blowing on my sweaty body behind the protection of a closed garage door...which is pretty much the same thing. My Zwift effort was productive for my fitness.

Nope.
It's not my fault we have this here.

I set everything up. All that should be required is for people to enter their own total. Except thanks to a dumb Strava loophole now someone has to check for fake miles.
You aren't looking very hard.

One of my remaining lifelong friends has become an anti-vaxxer and a rabid conspiracy theorist. It''s sad, actually. I stopped arguing with him even though I see him from time to time on the bike path.
One of my other friends has been arguing with him on FB. He claims all of the people in "one state" who are hospitalized are vaxxed.
I don''t understand why some people want to believe the conspiracies and reject all other knowledge.

got all kitted up and got to the top of my drive way and called it. Roads are soaked my have rained pretty hard, and it was currently misting.
I don’t mind riding in rain, it was misting yesterday, however I prefer it if the road started out dry.
Def. want to get miles today so hopefully it lets up later.
edit: not sure how people drive where you guys/gals live but here common sense goes out the window when precipitation is a factor.

I have an independent soft serve shop in my neighborhood and I try to avoid it due to be fattening and being lactose intolerant but I do stop in every Fall for one of those type shakes. I better put that on my to-do list.

We are invited to my nephew's wedding and we got an email update about the wedding and the "after party."
I figured since I am 50+ that the "after party" is something that younger people do after the wedding and the reception?? I think we will skip it because but since when did a wedding after party become a thing??
Speaking of weddings, today is mrs datlas and my 30th anniversary. for us
