What do you know about Turn of the Century Bottecchias?
Picked this up this weekend. Bottecchia "Reparto Corse" of Columbus Brain tubing.
I'm guessing late '90s since it has a threaded headset and stem, but not finding anything from around then other than the news that Carnielli sold the company in '99.
Components aren't going to help date it, because it was an inheritance, and the frame and loose parts were taken to a shop to be assembled.
Nice stuff, Ultegra 9sp with D-A hubs. Serial 65A276 (could be 55 if that's a size, but it's a little larger even c-c)
Interesting detail is the BB which has lugs for the wheel stays (everything else is butted), and a suspiciously Wilier "W" on the cross brace.
So what do you think? What year? Before or after the sale? Wilier content? Italian or Asian build?
Thanks!
