Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

yes - the V8 Jeeps could be a real handful - a lot of power for a lightweight short / narrow chassis with high center of gravity ... (what could go wrong ? lol)

their V8 Jeep lifted the front tires off the ground when it was launched hard when rolling backwards

27 degrees this morning. 27 doesn’t bother me, it’s the fact I can’t do intervals in that temperature that bothers me.

Good morning guys!

61° and raining here. Rode up to SBUX for a cup of bad coffee and an awesome bacon croissant Sammy.

I should probably start doing some miles so I'm ready for RAGBRAI but I did hike two hills yesterday. The wildflowers are just amazing this year.

So stupid question, but I really am intrigued by this. What can cause handle bars to feel wider than they are. What I mean by this, the bars on the 2015 Madone 2.0 I was convinced were 44 cm. When riding the bike they just feel wide to me. So I was shocked when I measured them, and they are the exact same width as all of my other bars. 42 cm. Weird, but saves me the money of having to buy new bars.

If I recall, you have your levers turned inward. Are they turned the same amount on all your bikes? I've been running 44cm bars forever (wide shoulders), and going to turned-in levers feels narrower, for sure.

I have them turned in on all my bikes. Must be an optical illusion or something. The head tube is taller, and the fit is more relaxed than all my bikes but not by much. Between the emonda and the 2015 madone the difference is drop was a little over an inch. I guess the slacker head tube and more upright position causes bars to feel like a steering wheel on a school bus.

Plan on getting Two more stems at some point in the future. To go on the Emonda and the 2015 madone. Both will be 120 mm with 17 degrees of drop.

Currently the Emonda has a 130mm stem with 7 degrees of drop. It’s the XXX carbon stem, and I like it a lot I think it’s actually too long for the bike. I don’t pay too much attention to the bars covering the front hub, but I have noticed that all of my bikes currently do actually cover the hub except for the Emonda. The bars are pretty far forward of the hub, unless I get super low on the hoods.

I also desperately need 2 sets of pedals. Even one set would be better than nothing. Eventually I would like to get another set of Garmin Rally and a set of ultegra pedals

The 2015 madone has a an interesting groupset combo. It’s 10 speed 105 but I believe the cranks are tiagra . I’ll try and get a picture of them, but could I throw a 105 stages arm on that spindle?
