Help ID this DeRosa

I’ll get better pics in the morning, but I’ve been looking at photos of DeRosa bikes and haven’t come across like mine. Wondering if it’s a homemade job on the toptube and a repaint. Thanks.

Most definitely a repaint, probably done when they did the diy cable routing

That cable routing looks like it would route water directly into the top tube ...

Picture of brake bridge and bottom bracket area? That would help.

Kinda glad it’s a repaint, I got a good deal on it in a trade for a bike that was too big for me. The ding on the toptube bothers me a little. I’ll ride it as is this summer, but this time next year I wouldn’t be surprised if it was red with full Campy. I’ve regretted selling a couple DeRosas that I’ve had in the past, so I’m hanging on to this one.

Brake bridge puts it pre-1986, as does the seat stay logo direction. The bridgless bottom bracket puts it closer to 1986.

My ‘86 Pro has the flat fork crown as above, same BB shell as the OP. As it happens I rode it today for the first time in a while.

Are the internal cable routings just holes drilled in the top tube and you have to "fish" the housing through, or is there an inner tube brazed inside? My Spectrum by Tom Kellogg has a similar cable routing design bit it has an internal tube brazed into the top-tube for the cable and housing to run through.

Note that in 1986 there was not a heart on the top of the brake bridge, later frames had a heart. I think yours is a late 1985/early 1986.

The internal brake cabling was added later, and nicely done, but not by De Rosa.

A picture of the FD braze on would be nice to see, as well, for posterity.
