Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had white tape on a bike once, but never again. It always looked grimy. all it took was fixing one punctured tire and the black smears were there for good.

That's a good reason to use a contrasting saddle and bar tape - it's tough to get a good match, and if you don't, it can be jarring.

While I believe everyone should choose a color scheme that makes them happy and ignore all the haters, I'm really having a hard time understanding the light blue tape on a red and yellow bike. Not to be offensive, but is there any chance the owner is color blind? What might appear beautiful to a color blind person won't look so hot to the rest of the world.

The following web site has a pretty nifty tool for finding what should be complimentary colors (i.e., colors that most people will see as pleasing):

https://www.canva.com/colors/color-wheel/

Since the frame is red and yellow, it looks like orange would be the only other color that would work if one uses the "analogous" combination.

A bright yellow to match the graphics would be my first choice.

What's up with the rotor and the chain ring impressions in the wall? Is that photo taken at the LBS?

That, and the mis-matched (White vs. Yellow) "Sky" logo on the seatpost made me question what I was seeing.

Cosmetics and 105 aside, who knows? Could be a blast to ride.

I was curious when somone would mention that.
I had to look several times to see they're embedded in the concrete.

Asking for approval of the bar tape and bragging about fitness and how you're faster than us - how insecure are you?

Chinarello for sure. FWIW, I once had a red vintage Cannondale ST. I used a color wheel to find a complementary light green Neubaums cloth bar tape. It looked pretty good, IMO. It was a real bike though, so maybe not relevant to this thread....

That is not a real Pinarello. You should have tapped the "Bigfoot" app on your camera so that it turns out fuzzy. There are some details that give it away.

It's been a few years since we had a Chinarello pop up on BF, I didn't realize they were still a thing. Seems the generic carbon bikes have become so popular most folks have given up bothering to pass them off as something else.
