Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hot.

I agree on the cage. White or black.

Stupid crooked labels on 5000's. They need to fix that.

2002 Trek 5200 US Postal Team Edition

Rebuilt with 11-speed Shimano Dura Ace / Ultegra mix, lots of sexy carbon stuff, etc...

Or with shallower wheels...

The Trek looks good with deeper wheels, makes that huge head tube gusset go away a bit. Seat position in the top pic is very odd, and you lose points for bag and bottles, but great background. Reckon it'd look better with black tape, maybe a bit of blue bling if you want to pick up the frame colour here and there. Looks like excess cable length all over too.

Frame is unfortunately a tad too big for me, hence the saddle/seatpost weirdness...

Looks like you've already got a 100mm stem and short reach bars on there, so I'd say you really need a smaller frame

My buddy had this hanging in his garage for years never riding it. I finally talked him out of the bike and wheels for an insanely low price. It’s a blast to ride.

Very hot. Too bad about the size and seat situation.

Yeah, I've got an eye out for my TCR in a 56. Doubt I'll find it for $600 again...

Definitely better with the deep wheels. There's enough blue, you don't need blue bar tape. Black or even grey. No need for bottles and seat bags in any Hot or Not thread.

Nice score. Chain goes on the big ring, that way we can't see how grungy the teeth are on the big ring. Time for a satellite unit so you can get that speed sensor off the fork. Almost hot.

It’s an open mold fork from Amazon under the brand name of “Strength”. Gives me extra clearance to match the rear.

Custom Reynolds AR58/62 decals

Apologies for non-drive side, but I only replaced the wheel decals on that side and am conflicted. The drive side is still all black. Trying to figure out which way to proceed.

The custom wheel decals detract, rather than add, IMO, but it's a hot bike. Post up the DS sans decals.

It's a hot bike, no need for the decals. I really can't say if red cages will improve it, either. Looks good as it is.

Love the Pirelli’s. They’ve introduced some new and improved versions recently as well.

Comfortable, fast, durable so far. Have a bit over 500 miles on them.
