JUST a concussion? Sheesh! I sure hope you got the lady's insurance info, or if she didn't stop, reported it to the police as a hit-and-run. Heal quickly and well!

Legs felt better this morning so I went for an easy spin. After a half hour the left quad was starting to cramp again, but I was either frustrated, stupid, or prescient, and did 2x20s. The pain vanished about a minute into the first interval. Still feels fine. I feel dumb for panicking over it yesterday.

Because I can never be happy with what I have, I've been perusing trainers. I have an ascent fluid from nashbar and it works fine, but the trainer attachment (for lack of a better term, the part that attaches and holds the QR skewer in place on the nondrive side) gradually loosens, so I sometimes stop and retighten. Just a little annoying. As nashbar has a generous return policy, I think I'd like to send it back, and maybe get an elite qubo power smart model from performance. I spend enough time on the trainer in the winter that it may be worth a good investment

10x30' trainer workout this morning. My old Mac doesn't have enough memory to run Zwift but Golden Cheetah seems to work just fine. Plus free trainer videos on YouTube. I think it should get the job done.

I wish I could do that. When I try to do "z2" and hit a target wattage, the AP always comes out way under..

Are you holding it steady at 200w the whole time, or somewhere above to account for downhills etc?

I'm not TMonk, but I usually aim for the top end of Z2 (75%) and end up somewhat below it. Going over for short periods is no big deal. I keep the power up on downhills.

Somewhere above.

The terrain does vary, and so I should really monitor NP, as my AP for the effort underestimates the TSS that I think I'm shooting for. I'm just OCD and like to see nice, big round numbers. In reality, a steady 200w for 3hrs would be a good workout for me.

I don't recall what the NP was off the top of my head, prob around 215-220w.

I just can't seem to hit that zone well; if I go above it too much I end up with too much time in the z3 bucket, but normally I end up with too much time in the z1 bucket.

On the trainer or rollers it's easy, but even on a flat road I struggle with this for some reason.

Does the same apply for intervals on flat road?

I do all my intervals on Fiesta Island now, thank god for that place. A flat, 4mi infitine loop, with a cutoff halfway through the island for a shorter loop.

For intervals where I just "go all out" like sprints and such, those are relatively steady.

Anything above 30 seconds though and I just can't hold it in one place.. even on flat roads. This is probably why I'll never be pro.

Many years ago (early 80s) I lived not too far from there (Moraga Ave off of Balboa). I spent too many days mad at my parents for moving us out of San Diego. Still have a ton of family there.
