I should probably eat more today...

"Bottom Line: you consumed 1877 and burned 2805 calories. Your daily calorie loss of 3288 calories exceeds the planned calorie loss by 2505 calories.
At this rate you will be losing about 16oz daily, or about 6.6lb each week, or about 28.2lb monthly. "

Oh, that makes sense. I use training peaks and I have it set so that it calculates my basal metabolism but I have to add any caloric expenditure above that manually. That way it tends to undercount expenditure.

The lowest I could set this one is "inactive", I guess that picks about 2300 calories for me. I like this site though because I can enter stuff easily from my phone.

Down to 191 lbs even after rehydrating post ride today. My goal this summer is to invert my training and go weight loss instead of build muscle mass which is what usually happens in the summer. I normally use the winter training time to build base and drop weight and do the intense training that builds muscle mass in the summer. I really need to drop another 15 lbs so I'm going to devote a large amount of the summer to Zone 2 and totally suck on any of the intense rides that are available (Tueday/Thursday "Hipp" rides in particular.).

Two weekends ago I was in Chicago at my older sister's 60th birthday party. One of the folks there is an older athlete (mostly marathon runner in the 2 hour 30 minute range so he is a very serious runner, but does cycle) and he said something about how thin guys "like us" have certain advantages. He thought that I was thin. He was so wrong. His jaw dropped when I told him what my body mass actually was. He thought that I weighed at least 15 lbs less.

I've been really going with high-fiber snacks like celery and carrots to keep hunger away. Works great but it's doubling my time in the bathroom.

Mollusk, it's all in the legs. People freak out when I tell them I weigh 172 as opposed to the 150 they think I am.. When you're in the street clothes they only see the upper body, so they think you're skinnier than you are.

OT, black eyed peas, rice, collards, sweet potato casserole, and hush puppies. With a nice lager to wash it down. Yummmmmmmy!

I also have a very long torso for my height (6' 2" tall and a 32" pants inseam). That does throw folks off a bit, too.

The weirdest one I ever saw with a complete disconnect between appearance and actual weight was a distance swimmer I knew. By distance swimming I mean races in Hudson Bay and the like. The Chicago to Michigan City race was too short for his taste. If you looked at him you might guess 210 to 220 lbs, but on the scale he was hitting 300 lbs +. And in the water he was total grace.
