^^^ Lugs look like a Gitane frame but not OEM crankset or rear end. Great bikes, just wait a year or so til he's bigger. Same bike as my 7 y.o. rides (see a few pages back)

Little Gitane test ride
Finally dry enough for the little girl to try out her "new" bike. Got the stand on pedal and hop into saddle trick quickly.

I seem to remember seeing a small racing style bike in my travels. It was a Falcon. I'll try to find it again! I'll get some pictures, too!
Any thoughts? Value!

That is well worth the money, I see forged dropouts,
i can assist finding all the difficult parts , including the tubular rear rim and tires for anyone who wants to build this bike back.
i am sure someone can haggle the price a bit.
only need a friend to pick it up!

If someone IS really interested, I might make a run at it, it IS an hour away, but looks like an interesting project one doesn't see too often.

Update: I picked up the above bike today! I'm not sure of the model but I'm told it's a Schwinn of some sort. It's for one of the kids on our speed skating team. Fits him great too. Dad decided he didn't like the color much and even though I told him it doesn't look too bad, he's opting to have it powder-coated black. So I took it home with me and am almost done stripping it down for him. It's been retro-fitted with Shimano 7-speed shifters and a 7-speed Sante' freewheel. Some the original braze-ons don't quite comply but were made to work with some "extra" cable housing. I've got a day or two to think about drewing them and adding a under BB cable guide. I'll try to keep you guys updated with some build pics...

Andy I think you should do the math on the gear ratios,
someone should test drive it ,
off the top of my head, i think nellis bike is
I think 36-46 x 14-22 and its pretty close to being correct for her.
nice find, but black?! I would paint it a bright color to be seen.
