Thanks! Still learning the ropes and figuring out how much air I can let out with this much more width/volume over 700x23. How are pinch flat protection and squirminess at 75 PSI (or 80, for that matter)? Comfort is great - I guess it's why a lot of people get wider tires, myself included - but the other two are more important to me, in that order. I'm willing to sacrifice some comfort.
Just kidding, I got one about a week after buying my first road bike in 2009. Didn't know that you had to pump up the tires regularly, unlike the mountain bikes I grew up on. But by at least checking the pressure before each ride, I haven't had one since. The 65 psi in the front tire can feel a little squishy when I'm out of the saddle and working hard, but it's not terrible. 70-75psi would firm that up without losing too much comfort.

Somewhat OT, but I got a box that did not contain the tires I ordered, or a bobcat, but a pair of tires costing over twice what the ones I ordered cost. And, uh, yeah, they were tires I might have ordered if cost were no object so.... cool. Just wondering what I'll get if I order from them again.

My lot of 40 center pull brake calipers arrived! 1 Favorit, 6 Universal Mod 61, 3 CLB Racer, 4 Shimano Tourney, Dia Compe 610's (about 24) and a set of 750's. I was hoping to put the CLB's on my motobecane GR but the brakes are missing the little dished washers that fit under the brake pad posts, and also the mounting stems, so I'll need to search for them on ebay,the same as MAFAC racers I believe

New pair of twist grip shifters from Sram. I ordered a 7 speed cassette through Amazon a couple of months ago, they shipped an 8 speed. I called and they asked for a return and then sent me another one. I sent them a nasty gram and they said they wouldn't charge me and to keep the cassette. Then a 7 speed cassette showed up! I recently bought a XT rear hub, yup, the 8 speed fit!. The 7 speed they sent me has too large a sprocket, 13 IIRC, which maxes out my cadence below 30 mph. I don't like it for that reason. The 8 speed goes down to 11 IIRC. All I really needed was a shifter to make it all work, and to re spoke with the new hub. I did check that the RD would have the range and the rear OLD will work too.
The other items were two set of crank bots using the 8mm allan. I prefer these over exposed hex bolts when the covers are missing.
Next to show up is a BB for the Langster as well as a freewheel. Hopefully today.

@leegf, I recommend much lower pressures. Try 70 rear, 60 front. Feel how close you think you are to a pinch flat, and go down from there. I'm going to start another thread about lowering our pressures. I'm pushing my limits and getting away with it.

Nashbar front lowriders from brockd15, bless his heart. When I got my RB-T last year and began planning my TransAm trip I also began building my first Nashbar order. That rack was the first thing into the cart. Kept it going with other things on my growing list but when it came time to check out the rack was gone; sold out and discontinued, evidently, so I was doubly glad to find this one.

Awhile back Non-Fixie and I were shooting the breeze about Belgian bikes and I mentioned the tags that I've seen on some of them( how I remember it ) Off the bat he says he will keep an eye out for some.
Time passed and 2 weeks ago he gets back from a cycle jumble in Ghent. He PM's me that he did indeed pick one up and it's mine if I still want it !
SURE ! Just arrived in the Post from the Netherlands. Wonderful item to include with my Belgique rebuild. Time to look up where Branant is.

Holy crap, I have TWO of those, and didn't even know what they were until just now? My wife picked them up at an antique fair somewhere local. Both have West-VL on them. One from 1982, and one from 1985. The 1982 Model is rose colored, and the other is a true red. Awesome! Thanks for posting this, and solving a mystery for me.,,,,BD

Thank you!! Cleaned it up quite a bit, and did some mending to the leatherette. Thankfully, I didn't have to repair any of the duck cotton or the map-viewing window. I did, however, replace all the shock cords (the stretchy loops) as well as the leather straps (from Acorn Bags).
I got the bag from someone I met online, who had this one bag left-over from the remaining stock of items he'd acquired in the late 70's. The actual production date eludes me, but I would guess this bag to be made sometime in the mid-70's (of course, I'd love more specificity). Appropriate since the bicycles that it will be accompanying, will be of a similar age.

Damn! I'm really really hating UPS right now!!.....
This is what greeted me at my front door when I got home from work this evening......
But fortunately because of the good wheel box, they did not succeed in killing the wheel inside.
Just needed to touch up the truing on my truing stand for a few minutes and its as good as new.
What makes me feel sick about it is I really suspect that someone in UPS along the way knew that it was a wheel in the Zipp wheel box and really tried to damage it by crushing (stepping on?) one end. If it was not done on purpose, it's really total negligence in handling on UPS's part at the minimum.
I might just be lucky, but I never had this experience with the US postal service with any boxes shipped to me through them. UPS seems to almost always damage the boxes delivered to me!
Other than all this, I am very happy to get this awesome wheel from C&V forum member "Force" today, as it will be a perfect companion to the Zipp Predator rear disc wheel I got a couple of weeks ago from other C&V forum member, Steve Whitlatch....
This new wheelset will be installed on my Medici "Aerodynamic" bike build...

Oooh!.....just found out from Matt that the wheel was shipped with a skewer in the box. That is gone, now either on the floor of the UPS truck, or on somebody's bike this morning......
