Tesla E Bike
I just came across this announcement video describing the new Tesla E Bike that was released in early December. I'm not an ebike rider so it may have been discussed here, but if not you might find this interesting. I did a search of thread titles and didn't see it mentioned.

I don't see any pedals so it's really an electric motorcycle.
That is one ugly POS.

I'll believe what Elon says after his taxes are PAID IN FULL, zero deductions.. and ALL of the taxpayer money that his businesses have received over the years/decades have been disclosed.

Years ago, before suspension started permeating the MTB community, I rode a Cannondale that felt like riding a concrete bike; this one could be worse.

I understand. When I rusted the top tube of a Tange Prestige steel tube, they rebuilt my custom out of stainless steel. It had no resilience. It was like riding a steel girder. Neat looking bike with both shinny steel and matte logos. But definitely not comfortable.

I dislike Elon Musky but I will say his cars are pretty trick. Having ridden in one it has some get up and go. I haven't really been pinned back in the seat but ole' Musky did it. Now would I own one, probably not (unless they come down in price and Elon is no longer a part of the company) but they are kind of neat.
I am sure if they did make an e-bike it would probably not actually be a bike but a crappy moped motorcycle thing probably like a crappier version of the Van Moofs or something like that. I will keep my good German engineering free of the whackjobbery.

The video convinces me that it's gimmick bike. I'm not doubting the tech, but they started off by saying everyone else is making one, so we will too

Ya, GM made one.... where is it?
Harley Davidson made one...... price?... and where is it?
What ever happened to 'form follows function'..... in design.... everybody trying too hard to reinvent the wheel.
Or suspension.. with the Tesla shocks on built into the wheel....how much do those weigh? I guess Elon or his designers have never ridden a bike in their life.
And I agree this is nothing but click-bait

I call bs on that whole YouTube channel.
Somewhere on the internet is a GIF of a Lolcano. A volcano made of LOL, spewing LOL's out everywhere in an eruption of LOL's. I think that gif applies here.

Here is the actual webpage for this bike concept:
https://www.kendalltoerner.com/project/tesla-modelb
As you can see it is a personal concept of some random industrial designer, nothing to do with Tesla other than this guy took the liberty of putting their logo on it. Then someone else made a bogus YouTube referencing it to harvest some click-bucks.

A unique "bike". Watch the video.
Most of the video shows people pedaling bikes, but apparently the Tesla bike doesn't pedal.
Near the end, it says it will have a steer by wire with Tesla's "autopilot". That would be a unique feature for a bike. However, I wonder if that whole thing is being designed by somebody that doesn't actually ride a bike.

They range from $3800-5600ish. Very real and very decent bikes.
Can't speak to GM or others but the Harley's are out there.

There have to be some Harley licensed bikes from the 1970's.
A very popular base for motorized conversions is the Schwinn OCC which takes some inspiration form motor bikes.

Harley Davidson's are in the shops now. We have all of the models, They do a single speed (Mosh), and a step through and more standard diamond frame with Enviolo Automatiq and a speed model(Rush) . I have ridden them and we stock them at the shop. I dislike the Brose button pads they used as they are small and have little data but the bikes are quite nice. https://serial1.com

Now, on to Serial 1 e-bikes from Harley-Davidson. I really liked it, however, I went with the Priority Current. I have no doubt that the Serial 1 is a better bike. However, it had two things against it for me. Firstly was the price. It was about 1.75 the price of the Priority. Secondly, I was annoyed with HD for having just dropped the Street Rod. I liked it, I had just saved the money for the Street Rod, just in time for it to be dropped.
This matters because it is emblematic of HD's tendency to drop products and then pretend that they have never heard of it. . . Buel anyone?
This left me a bit concerned with Future service and availability. Mostly, I was just a bit annoyed with them. I only plan to keep the Priority Current for a few years. Not because there is anything wrong with it, I just know I will want something different by then. At that point, I will look to see if Serial 1 is still in operation.

There must be another video I posted no such video.
Serial One is using Brose, Enivolo and Gates easy to get support for their stuff and unlikely those companies are going anywhere. Brose has been around since 1903, Gates has been around since 1911, and Enviolo a relative new comer since 2007 but I doubt any of these companies are going to stop their bike divisions. They seem quite strong and used on a lot of different brands. Yes the frame is from Serial One/HD but I am quite doubtful this is just a short lived project they are going to kill off. I know they do have some history but so do many other companies, SRAM is a good example, they have killed off a lot of stuff in their history of buying others and even in their own lines.
Luckily as well Serial 1 is a somewhat separate entity from HD so another good reason to worry less. I think they will certainly be in business and if they decide to leave I will be surprised they actually have a decent product and a good in with a lot of less tapped markets as well traditional e-bike clients.
Buell is back as well as Erik Buell Racing in case you were curious.
