What is this?
I'm not concerned value wise, just curious what this is. Looks like a bottle cage but smaller...

Just asking a simple question. Are you a Mod in training? Seemed pointless for me to start a thread in C&V about a cage. If you could direct me to the 'what is it forum' it would help.

IIRC REG (Rampinelli) offered a junior size water bottle and cage
spent a few moments just now to see if could locate an image of one, but without success
perhaps another reader may recall this product, there were likely other brands as well
for what size tube are the mounting clamps intended?
REG did have one small bottle found an image of but it is flask shaped, evidently intended to be carried in a musette or jersey pocket
capacity is given as fifteen ml, which sounds very small indeed, suspect this figure must be an error
perhaps someone intended to write fifteen dl
---
have you considered the possibility that the holder may be for a battery which is part of a lighting system?
from the 1920's through the 1940's there were combination bicycle lighting systems which employed both a dynamo and a battery
in these designs the battery typically mounted to the frame in some form of bracket/holder

What’s stamped into the upper ring?
Looks pretty robust to me, maybe a mount for a tool kit container? Or a gas bottle for camp stove?

It is made by Coloral. I picked up a couple bikes yesterday along with a box of parts. Neat stuff. I'll share more in the C&V forum.

These are older vintage bottle cages made for 40' 50's alloy or glass tapped bottle cages which are about 5mm smaller than modern standard. Also as noted above Cooral and sever other makers made there own specific bottles and cages the uniform bottle cage size we think of did not come into the main stream until the late 80's.

So, does it fit the ubiquitous disposable water bottles which don't fit well in standard cages?

Good question that could add to value considering the slight spring and solid build of the cage and slight flex in modern disposable water drink bottles I would ques yes. Also would a large size 24 oz beer bottle fit?

It might fit something the size of a can of Red bull. Its not any bigger than that.
More than likely, mid 50's, as that fits with most of the other parts.
I didn't know they made a bag support. There were two Karrimor 'uplift' bag supports in the box. Haven't seen one in years.
Thank you Juvela for your time.
