So THAT'S Why I Had a Weak Training Ride!

Went out for a forty-miler yesterday that included six of my favorite steep hills, and didn't feel very strong. Couldn't get my heart rate or power up where they would normally be at this time of year. Even felt a little light-headed at the top of one climb. Assumed it was due to this cold that I've had for a week or so.

Today I figured out what's actually going on.

I have all those symptoms at times without the COVID. <grin>

Hope your case is mild and you are mostly in the recovery part.

I had it once at the end of 2020 and start of 2021. Absolutely do not want to go through that again.

So again, wish you the best and a prompt recovery!

Can you still taste your chain lube.

I have to say I'm not a fan of this COVID thing. I know that's controversial, but I'm not seeing a lot of upside.

Seriously, stay well , hope this is just a minor annoyance.

Your doing good, when I got it in Nov 2020 I struggled getting out of the recliner to the bathroom and back to the recliner.... Took several months before I even threw a leg over the bike.. Good luck..

Seems like a perfectly acceptable excuse for a poor training ride. But you can only use it once!

Get well fast.

I heard on the BBC's Science Hour podcast that it seems the only way to avoid long COVID is to rest. Even when you're feeling better, rest.

I just got the double lines too! Plan on kicking back for 5 days or so, then I’ll resume riding. Got a few books to read, and the weather is gonna suck for the next week anyway.

did the 2nd line come up quickly? I've been told, if the at home tests are gonna be positive, one doesn't have to wait long. I've stared at all mine, for many minutes waiting, but thankfully always negative

The T line popped up immediately for both me and my wife.

sorry I don't remember what the 2 lines are I just know if you're negative you get 1 line, positive gets 2 lines, so it the "T" line the positive line?

Yep. C line is for Control...Get a T line and you're screwed. It's basically like a home pregnancy test in that regard.

You know you don't need to get screwed to get COVID, right? Seems a bit different than pregnancy in that regard.

Sorry, couldn't resist the softball.

Glad to hear you were well enough to ride at all! When I had it, I could barely get out of bed to pee for a week and a half. I never knew if my taste was affected because I was too weak to eat anything.

ironically, when i had covid i was FASTER on the bike because my heart rate was 10% higher across the board, and i basically had no other symptoms after a day or two of crushing fatigue. i’d had three shots of pfizer by then: so thankful for that.
