Robinson Racing BMX

I got this bike at yard sale today, is there any value in it other than a beater for the Grandkids to ride? Model SST looks like it was made in August of 1998. 4130 frame looks like all original parts other than maybe the tires.

Lots of great parts and all race-worthy from the golden era of BMX. In the early '80's every kid that rode BMX wanted a bike like this. In today's world the value is more in the $150 range. JMHO, Smiles, MH

Thats definitely applicable to the old stuff ---- not sure if these "Mid-School" bikes are there yet ---

Robinson was a premium brand, but the low end GT branded parts make this bike appear to be a mid range model -- so while not necessarilly a "beater" -- i wouldnt hesitate to let youngsters ride it , as its not a wall hanger either.

I’d ask the gang in the BMX forum. My opinion is values drop dramatically after 1986 or so. My gut tells me about $150 on this Robinson but maybe you’ll learn I’m 400% wrong.

My number was based on actual sales on eBay, for this bike of this age. I was surprised too.

If you have access to Terapeak (eBay's 12 month database of actual sales), you will find ten sales from $400 to $900. The $900 unit was a 1996 model.

whoah!

This hyper inflation annoys me (only because it hasnt swung around to our C&V race oriented bikes yet though)
