I seem to be drawn to Mt. Tamalpais recently. Up and down the shoulders of the mountain a couple times and several miles along the coast highway.

62 miles, 6,800 feet of climbing.

Low 30s and windy. Switched back to drops on the Motobecane and did 20 miles this morning.

I was able to reuse the rear housing but didn't have any more of the red for the front so I've got mismatched cables. Honestly I kind of like it. Maybe I'll do a red/black harlequin on the tops of the bars sometime

I did something similar on my Schwinn three-speed. I happened to have enough white Modolo housing for the front brake, so I used that. Black for the rear. The Modolo housing is my "high zoot" part.

Did a mostly gravel ride in between Crozet and Batesville today. I explored a new road which would have spit me out next to Batesville and it’s country store for a sammich if I could have gotten across the Ford of the Meecham River (the bar to get called a river around here is pretty low). Most places the Meecham is about 20 feet wide and rarely more than a couple of feet deep, but the tropical storm remnants that just passed through has everything at flood stage. I had low expectations of getting across and was proven right. I considered shimmying across the fallen tree, holding the bike with one hand below the tree, but for once, common sense prevailed and I rode back the way I came.

I walked along the bank to the right to explore a crossing and sank up to my ankles in mud and managed to coat my bike as well.

I coulda made it!

What a difference a week makes; temp 77 last weekend 45 this afternoon. I managed my short 22 mile Roger Williams Park loop today. 5 laps with a little urban riding to get there.

Cunliff Lake

Museum of Natural History 0

I usually do this ride afterwork before the sun sets, but daylight is getting scarce lately.

That's a beautiful bike. The fender lines - particularly the rear - are just right

Just one of those things I never think about until I'm on the bike.

Thank you

I appreciate that, this fender install was the most frustrating one yet

Because the latter is not a C&V bike? Its rider certainly is vintage!

No, the pile of rocks next to the train track. I usually go at least a couple of weeks before a recycle a location.😉

I am curious about today’s bike though.

Hah! Guilty as charged. I really like this route and seem to do it at least once a week. About a month ago I rode it three times over three days, once in the opposite direction than the other two. Did I say I like this route?

Oh, and the bike is actually a modified Schwinn Varsity, anyway. Forgot to include a pic of the front end:

Got a new seat for the MT-200 at the local thrift store for $2 yesterday so took a nice windy cold test ride ride around Fairplay this afternoon really like the new saddle.

The high for today was 71, so I slipped out and got in 27.25 miles on the Mercian Vincitore fixed gear. I was pushed for time so not so many pictures, just views of the paved rail-trail with its autumn coat -

Looking at these pictures of your ride tells me i should stop complaining about a 48° cold morning ride.

Those are some nice snowy views while riding.
