Denver Group Rides??

So I know some of us are members of Team Evergreen, but I was wondering if any of you would want to form a bikeforum group rides???

I need to train hard for the Triple By-Pass that I'm going to be doing this summer and I thought this would be a great idea.

So tell me your thoughts and maybe we can get something going??

RMCC does rides that are specifically designed to ramp up to TBP, but yes I'm all over BF group rides!

Now how do we get rid of all this snow?

Well I rather ride with you guys!!! Plus I would like to get something going here. It seems there are quite of few of us here that we could form a pretty good group.

As for the SNOW. Think real hard and maybe that will melt it off.

So I'm just thinking off the top of my head but we could do weekend rides something like twice a month to start???

I'm hoping February will start to warm up here soon.

I'm in. Twice a month sounds great -- when we get more daylight, a once-a-week climbfest would be good too....

The bonus is Daylight savings time starts on March 11th!!! YIPPIE

I'm going to make this thread a sticky for right now.

I'll start pondering the calendar and wait to hear from others

I'm in for the lookout mountain rides for sure!!! I live in Lakewood, riding distance from Lookout so thats a good climbing ride for sure.

I think starting mid-February I'll start posting weekend rides. Now what I need from you all is to help with the routes.

I will do my best on that but no promises. What your schedules like? I work 4am to noon so my evenings are free for the most part. (minus karate nights)

well there's the green mtn/dino ridge/red rocks route we've done, that's a gooder. Last summer on the Livestrong training rides we always left outta Sloan's Lake, mostly heading to Golden and beyond. There's also going from Sloan's to Cherry Creek Res (or Chatfield) and back. That should give decent miles too. I also enjoyed the loop starting at Chatfield res, heading up Deer Creek then North Turkey Creek into Evergreen and down into Morrison, then back to Chatfield res via the c470 trail. That was 47mi or so, and some good climbing....

Well you won't be newb for long!!

I work 6:30 in the morning to 3:45 or so. Not sure how much longer that will be cause I'm looking for a new job.

S.dex, yep I've done most of those rides too. The only one I haven't is that ride to Evergreen you mentioned.
I was also think we could do some rides like Idaho Springs to Loveland Pass, Coppermountain over Fremont Pass, some rides like that.

Sounds cool, snowy.

I'm hoping the next storm holds off until after we can get the "C" in. It will be a long slow day. I buddy of ours from Texas is going to be in town too. It'll be fun if the weather holds off.

Here's hoping...

Approx. 4,700 miles last year. And I didn't start riding till June. Now all I have to do is find the money for my cross country ride, I think I'm ready.

Thats great, can't say I did that many miles but this year I'm going to try hard for that goal.

We have a friend that did 15,000.00 miles last year. He has no car.

I have a truck. It hasn't moved under it's own power in over a year. Makes a good storage shed for my tools, though.

So, when are we riding? I just visited Wheat Ridge Cyclery today and spent way to much money on CX tires for my Bianchi San Remo tourer and a new NightRider MiNewt Dual dual LED lighting system. Now, the new tires won't fit in my crummy old fenders, so guess I'll finally have to nice new fenders for that bike.

Once the road conditions dry up a bit, the 5200 is ready to roll too...

LETS RIDE!

I'll put it on my calendar. I'm good for anything above about -5 degrees.
