Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I wouldn't say "plummet" - rather "descending faster than you would like to be, towards an area you weren't planning on."

I received this book as a gift when I was younger:

As a student of "Hooked on Phonics", I absolutely butchered the pronunciation and am reminded of it every so often.

I don't ever want to see a mountain lion. If I ever, do that means that it's been watching me for a while - and that's absolutely horrifying.

The bobcats around here used to make me nervous. Mountain lion is a whole nuther matter.

I meant an airliner. Presumably bampilot06 already has the gist of landing.

I saw a few copperheads when I worked in the wilds of north Georgia years ago.

Because millions of dollars is spent making them more difficult to crash.

Slick Rick rerelease news. Double LP with some demo cuts, etc. added, and a book.

Ooh, I got that 12" single of Hey Young World in the upper left of the page open in this pic. Looks like you get an eyepatch too!

I was near this house, entering this park when she strolled across my path, maybe 50 yards away. Horse people later told me she had a lair in the hills with cubs.

In other olde hiphop news, headed back from the trails to the minivan the other night I rode by the beach volleyball pit and these young teenagers were volleyballlin' and rockin' Cypress Hill on their boombox!!!

It warmed my heart.

Bobcats are normally very reclusive and usually by the time I see one, it's already leaving. Once in a while I see one that doesn't care.

Even more rare is seeing a fox. I've only seen one in the wild.

I think there was a poster named Cypress Hill around here back in the day.

We have fox in our urban back yard on a regular basis. Never seen a bobcat anywhere.
