Anyone in here ever tour Puerto Rico?

I'm considering a bike tour in January of 2023. Weather should be great then.
Is PR it safe to tour?
Are there any bike lanes once you leave San Juan?
Did you stay along the coast or did you climb a mountain which are in the center of PR?
There are only 3 warm shower hosts in PR. Are there any campgrounds there?

I know people who have done the big, organized tour they have there every year (At least pre-pandemic.) They love it.

Tourlog (from someone else, not me):

Adventure Cycling did an organized group winter tour in PR for many years. They've not been back since the hurricane.

This cyclist rode about there & wrote about there:

I considered circumnavigating Puerto Rico last year but opted for alternate idea instead. I still would love to do the Puerto Rico trip. I think it would be great.

Subbed for interest... I'm headed there this winter but not for cycling. One snippet I've read (on a non-cycling specific guide) is that around the southwestern corner of PR, the roads are steep and winding, with little shoulder and short sightlines, and lots of heavy trucks, so not recommended for cyclists. I hope to find out if that's true, or perhaps typical over-caution from a non-cyclist. I've certainly been in quite a few situations that sound like that, and it's been fine.
