The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money & Power, by Daniel Yergin, 1990.

Written 30yrs ago, it's still probably the best overview of the petroleum industry from inception to 1990 (when the book was published). Covers all key players, discoveries, technologies, markets, and the inherent geopolitics of it all. Fantastic book.

Also made into a PBS documentary (in eight parts).

My favorite is the series of books about Percy Jackson and his adventures. I can reread it all the time.

"And the Crows Took their Eyes" by Vicky Lane. Best historical fiction since Hillary Mantel.

I recommend the updated version. Pride, Prejudice and Zombies.

The Eight Mountains by Paolo Cognetti. A subtle, quiet and meditative work about fraternal bonds in the most magnificent Alps of northern Italy.

I'm a science fiction and fantasy fan of over 50 years with over 2000 titles in my personal library. A couple of my favorite all-time series are "The World of Tiers by Phillipe Jose Pharmer", and" The Chronicles of Amber" series by Roger Zelazny.

All novels by Elmore Leonard. I read or listened to all of them, if I didn't have a long list of other books to read, I'd listen to them again. For more on his writing view https://www.pbs.org/show/elmore-leonard-dont-try-write/
