Cervelo Soloist Carbon vs. BMC Pro Machine
I was waiting for a Soloist Carbon frame set to be shipped to my LBS. To date there has been 3 shipping date delays and now the new 'shipping date' is set for May 15. I have been riding a BMC Pro Machine which the LBS was gracious enough to provide as a loaner and I have been very impressed with the bike. I am thinking of scrapping the Soloist order and just going for the Pro Machine.

BMC exclusivity a plus
I am going to order a BMC Pro Machine in the next few days myself.
I don't know if a BMC is any better than a Cervelo, however, you cannot beat it for being distinctive as it is uncommon.
If Floyd Landis continues his winning ways into the TDF, BMC's will become all the more coveted, but impossible to obtain. All the frames for this year are accounted for and shops cannot order more. For example, no shop sells them in Northern California. Palo Alto Bicycle would like to get some, but cannot.
If you have access to one now, I would grab it. It is a great bike, you'll be the first on your block with one, and it has a great upside.

I'd take the BMC
I've been riding a BMC as a commuter for quite some time now, and I've actually used it for a few longer rides as well - and for my next road bike I'll definitely be looking at their range. Given your choice, I'd take the Pro Machine at the blink of an eye, especially as you've ridden it for some time now and like it well.
Of course as a Swiss, I might be a tad biased...

Pro Machine
I picked up the Pro Machine last evening and it is a beauty. I did a 15 mile ride this morning and everything went as expected. The bike is very responsive and it seems all the crank force is transferred to the wheels immediately. I will be doing a 30 mile ride tomorrow and will give more feedback including a pic of the bike.
Setup:
Winwood ergo handlebar
Ritchey WCS stem
Fizik Arione Tri saddle
Shimano Dura Ace groupset
Mavic Cosmic Carbone wheels
BMC Pro Machine Frameset

Is that the nanotech one or the regular green and yellow phonak model? Wow!
I've heard that the BMC is very very stiff and quite an uncompromising ride. Give it an 80 miler and see if your butt can live with it before taking the plunge!!!

Yes. My LBS loaned me a BMC pro machine. This shop only sells high end bikes. I had the loaner for 2 weeks and the bike was outfitted with Campy record and zipp 303's.
Yes it is the Red/black frame set and not the yellow/green Phonak version. This shop is in Boca Raton, in Palm Beach, Florida. Enough said.
