Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New cables and housing, for sure. I didn't read the work order.

As far as elevation goes, I've said before, you can't swing a dead cat with a 1000' of elevation gain.
I dunno if there's a Harlem River Drive IRL, but the tune has a really nice groove to it!

Does anyone know how long each stage of acquisition according to the Ferengi should last?

It seems like I’ve been stuck in infatuation far too long. If I had a guideline, at least I would know. There’s still the justification, appropriation, obsession and resale that I have to go thru you know?

There is a Harlem River Drive, which borders the Harlem River. It feeds into the more infamous FDR drive which borders the East River which actually feeds from Long Island Sound, not the Harlem River.

As a noob, visitor or tourist, you do NOT want to drive on the FDR drive.

Ditto.

Although since I'm forced to sit around, unable to do much with this hernia & isolation, I've noticed my quads starting to shrivel like an old man.

I may have to get on my bike and find some modest hills to rebuild.

I hate Boston too, but for different reasons than the traffic. It pains me greatly that my grandson and parents live there.

No ride today other than a couple of miles around the neighborhood with my daughters.

My 8 year old and I are going to run a couple of miles. She loves doing it and can do 3 miles at an 8:45 pace, not bad for a kid. Running kills my hip ever since I had my labrum repaired back in 16 (which was supposed to remedy the issue) but since she loves it so much, I’ll suffer through. I wish I never had it, it hurts more now than pre-surgery.

have 60 planned for tomorrow afternoon after I drop them off with their mother, will be the most I’ve done in one time since 2017, haven’t really ridden much the last three years, maybe had a total of 1000 for all three combined. I’m still managing 18-19 on 40ish mile rides with 2-3k in climbing, so I guess it’s not all bad.

I’ve done more than that this year and my goal is 5k. My 40th b-day Fred Sled has definitely got me more motivated to go.

No, I was referring to the minimalist climbing referenced, not the event.
