Wow - super clean. It looks like it came straight from the showroom floor. Nice to see we've both got '82 Campione del Mondo's. I see yours has been upgraded with Campy Nuovo and Super Record components very similar to mine.

They did a great job on the repaint, then.

Are you happy with the repairs? It's always good to know about someone who does good work.

I must admit that I did get on our local ebay this evening to see if there were any high end Bianchi's - hahaha - look what you've made me do.

The '82 Campione del Mondo - I may as well show it:

It's lovely and it did take me a while to build but.......I just can't seem to fall in love with it. I sold it once and bought it back a couple of years later but.......its a nice bike.
That's the one! I still think CdM12Vs are tops. Our frames look identical except in detail - I think yours uses the same exact fork crown, lugs and BB shell as mine, in addition to short Campy 1010b dropouts. Love the way you accented the details with Celeste

Thanks DD.

I think my model was used by the Belgian Pro team in 1982 as their team bike so that says something - perhaps cheap - haha. I couldn't help myself with adding something like the celeste accents.

Are you thinking 'drillium' at all with yours?

Hi Mackgoo, beautiful collection and some brilliant Bianchi's. the shopping bike would need a good lock if it was left outside a shop. My fav. is the SLX ? Bianchi - but I wouldn't say no to any of them.

I considered doing a little basic drillium on the brake levers, then thought better of it. Once you do one bit, you might as well do them all. Instead I stuck with paint highlights and the funky gear levers - and shellacked bar tape. That is as far as I'm going on this. Plus, I've not drilled a hole in anything for a couple years now

Yeah, I thought you had 'parked' the Dremel a while ago. I know what you mean about "Once you do a bit....".

I really mean it when I say I love your Bianchi - it really is the bike I have wanted for ages. It's perfect. That (Specialissima) and a Miguel Indurain Banesto Pinarello

Thanks, but not an upgrade according to the original Bianchi brochures, thats how it came originally. Bike was mostly Campy Gran Sport, with NR derailleurs, and SR brake levers

It's a real beauty. I've always admired the carbon ALAN's. They seem to clean-up so well with minimal work - Yours looks new.

Here's mine: 1983, Aluminium, mostly Super Record. I commuted on this bike for quite a while.

A great story of long term ownership. It must be a great riding bike and it's set-up so well. Good luck with your shoe/cleat search.

I have to agree about the colour as it's so iconic and beautiful. This is everything the 90's was about. from the Ciussi Ti bottle cages to the Campy Record groupset, to the Ti Flite saddle, to the alloy frame and is that a titanium seatpost? It all screams the best of the 90's. So good to read it is stiff and responsive as the 90's demanded. What a great bike to own.

I still remember when the Torelli's were introduced and the intrigue as to which Italian framebuilder was behind the brand. It had everyone talking. And.....it's red, which, to me, is THE Torelli colour. It's a great bike with a top end mix of components. I bet the lovely front fork crown was a talking point way back then.
